Boumsong awaits Besiktas reply
Thursday 17 January, 2008

Juventus defender Jean-Alain Boumsong’s future remains unclear as talks with Turkish giants Besiktas continue.

The French international stopper was a regular starter during the Old Lady’s Cadetti campaign, but he hasn’t featured in the top flight.

Boumsong has overcome a series of injuries and played in the Coppa Italia clash against Empoli on Tuesday, but he failed to impress.

The Cameroon-born star’s agent has been in talks with Turkish Super Lig runners-up Besiktas, who have reportedly made an offer of around £2m, but Juve are looking for at least £3m.

It is also believed that Boumsong’s wage demands of around £1m per year – equal to his current salary – may prove a problem for the Black Eagles.

With Giorgio Chiellini sidelined for a month with a knee injury it is possible that there may be more space for the 28-year-old on Turin, but it seems increasingly likely that Boumsong will quit the club before the end of the season.

Lazio may provide competition for the ex-Newcastle man’s signature, but Besiktas are in pole position and will hold further talks within the next few days.

Okay.... this is getting too far. We all know that Boumsong isn't the player we want and we all know that he should never be in our squad. But lets just stop with the racist comments and insults. And I'm very serious here.

Criticize him as much as you want him, but keep the insults and the racist comments aside or this will go really far.

Yesterday Boumsong's agent has met Besiktas' executives for speak about the transfer of the french in Turkey. The offer of about 3 million euros is not enough for Bianconeri, that would earn at least 4,5 million ( money paid for engage the defender form Newcastle). The other problem is the player wage, 2 million eruos every season. Monday there will be a meeting between the two parts.

Turk, do you have any idea how much the best players in Besiktas earn per season ?

Boumsong's getting 2.5 million with us but i think he'd accept an offer between 1.5-2.0 million euro.
Do Besiktas players earn this much and are Besiktas capable of paying this much to one player ?

It really sounds funny if we really rejected a 3 million offer for Boumsong.

Thanx man

Understandably, they don't want to give 2m euro to Boumsong. They can't allow to pay him almost double more than what they pay to their best player and 40% more than what they pay to their highest paid player.

Even 1.5m euro will be hard to get.
We're stuck with the guy :rndh:

This is why Boum's been performing even below his usual suckyness as of late. He knows he's out the door as soon as the other defenders are back so it doesn't matter how he does in these games.
I think Ranieri needs to pull a dirty one and tell Boum he regards him as the future rock of the defense and Juventus captain. Maybe that way, Boum will atleast try his best.

I don't know if that was a joke there, but you could be actually right. When It's obvious for players that they're not needed and when they're giving chance to play they naturally don't play well and can't focus on the game.

That could be right but if that's the case then Boumsong is one stupid SOB.
His value on the market will keep droping and he won't be able to find a new club and sign a good contract.
