Thats nothing. This is the team that paid £12m for Tore Andre Flo.
True, true, when your skipper bails, sucks, comes back with his tail between his legs and is still your best player I guess that doesn't say much..

Forgot about Flo though, shame they couldn't include that one on the Times 50 Worst Transfer list (which incidentally/relevantly included our venerable Boum-Boum at No. 12)

Seems like he's trying to do a back flip.

In fact it was a very good backflip. he bounced right back after a doing header. Pretty impressive. Unfortunately you don't get any goals awarded for this. ;)

If he was an Inter player he would have probably gotten the Scudetto for the flip ;)

Boumsong rejects Lyon loan

Wednesday 15 August, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus defender Jean-Alain Boumsong has reportedly turned down an offer to join Olympique Lyonnais on loan.

The Frenchman is not a part of Coach Claudio Ranieri’s plans, but is refusing all proposals to leave Turin.

He had already shot down the chance to go to Spain for Valencia and it is now reported Boumsong has also slammed the door on his homeland.

Lyon are looking for a new defender to replace Cris, who will be out for six months with a knee ligament injury.

Boumsong has another three years left to run on his Juventus contract, worth £1.6m per season, and has no intention of accepting a loan spell elsewhere.

If the Bianconeri are to clear him out of their ranks, it will have to be a permanent move and so they hope to reignite negotiations with Valencia.

The 27-year-old former Newcastle United and Glasgow Rangers man arrived in Italy in 2006, when Juventus were demoted to Serie B.

He had a fractious rapport with the fans and made several defensive errors, but began to win them over with two goals in 33 appearances.

Boumsong Snubs Loan Move To Lyon

Juventus defender Jean Alain Boumsong has refused a loan move to Olympique Lyon, with the Bianconeri allegedly keen to offload the player.

Judging from the criticisms which have been poured on defender Jean Alain Boumsong even last season in Serie B, it would appear he is one of the weakest links in the Juventus defence. The club are allegedly aiming to offload him, but the player is not intent on leaving, especially on a loan deal.

It seems, in fact, that Boumsong has refused a transfer to French champions Olympique Lyon, who were looking for a replacement of the injured Brazilian defender Cris and wanted to sign the Frenchman on loan.

But it was to no avail, as the player, who still has three years left on his Juventus contract, declined the offer. Now Juventus are awaiting Valencia's offer, as the Spanish side are also interested in the player. However, it remains to be seen whether Boumsong will accept a move to Spain, or keep playing hard ball.
