Looks like Boumsong-Kovač partnership is getting better and better.

The Juventus defence is firm as a rock now.

Buffon: “We’re like a rock at the back”

“We’ve adjusted the few anomalies we had at the start and now, apart from playing well and taking home the points, we’re like a rock at the back. As a goalkeeper, I have no complaints with that”. Buffon kept his third clean sheet in a row against Piacenza, a clear sign of progress for the Juventus back line. Buffon can certainly claim responsibility for the improvements, always vocal at the heart of the Bianconeri defence. “I’ve always taken responsibility as my role is a delicate one. If you don’t talk to your team mates, things become a lot harder”. Asked what he thought about the attacks he’s encountered over his first month in Serie B, the goalkeeper had this to say. “I have to say that the quality of teams at the lower end of Serie A is not all that different to the quality of teams in Serie B. You might say that teams are more keen on playing football here, which is a pleasant surprise for me”.

What do you say about Boumsong now?

People were sceptic about him, and now he is being praised by Gigi Buffon.

That means something.

Please discuss.

He was actually very good against Piacenza!
His confidence has taken a boost it seems. May it continue!

He is maybe described as a "good athlete", but he is more than that.

He is constantly called in his National Team and this means something.

Dont forget that he joined us when we were already in Serie B.

I remember him playing for Auxerre and he was very good as all Auxerre player were then - Fadiga, Kapo, Cisse, Boumsong and Mexes.

It is just pitty that Kapo is loaned out again, he could have been useful for this season because we lack in midfield player depth.

Not to mention they could have get along very well together.

Anyways, I really hope Boumsong continues to improve under DD and becomes a "new Thuram" for us.

so he won't be a new thuram.
He is already a "better Thuram".

Thuram left us cause we re in Serie B, Boumsong joined us cause we re in B.

    See the difference?

But I agree, we will see how much he is worth in Serie A.

that's why they shouldn't be compared

I bet this thread will explode the very next mistake Boumsong makes.:p

I have to admit our defence seems to be doing better than expected. The jury is still out though.

honestly if he performs 75 % as well as lilian did for juve then we will win everything in sight...boumsong has always been highly-rated but i feel mentally he is not right at this moment...if he can get his focus and confidence back he will be a tremendous player for juve
