I too really really wonder how Totti will do - I'm prepared 4 N.Ething. His performance when he came in against Milan wasnt good. Good thing we are going with reasonable strikers with him ( I feel Iaquinta can do well)

Forza Azzuri......If they win this thing I dont know what I'll do - I was extremely happy when the Gunners lost yesterday - I can only imagine how I'd feel with a cup win for a team I realy DO support intensly. I have a die hard Azzuri fan friend of mine ( we are actually the only supporters on campus) but he really hates Juve coz he says we like buying 'traitors' i.e Trez and Ibra

The group of Palermo players have been unconvincing since Gigi Del Neri took over, this has left gaps for defence and which is y they r unable to perform at this stage. However Palermo did ok in the UEFA Cup competition, only to lose to a more experienced Schalke. Whether big stages or not, yea, they still don't really convince me despite getting called up by Lippi, so I would start Oddo at RB. Regarding Panucci, the hatred was already there, but Panucci decided to light the fuel for the fire and shut himself off. Sad to say, he was the best RB for the whole season I have to admit. But then he is well known for his attitude

Pirlo and Nesta is greatly needed for the squad, let's hope that Italy performs well in this stages. About De Rossi, I'm still doubtful of his temper, which is y I prefer Perrotta. I would actually give the nod to Perrotta instead.

Totti? I'm sure he will be a different man after all these setbacks that he received. I'm sure he will perform well in the WC to shut off the media since they were all over him 2 years ago. I actually hope that he will perform for Italy's sake.

With regards to Materazzi, can you think of anybody who is better than him? I can't
well only abt materazzi, if he wasnt in Inter would he have got the nod ?there is bonera(i know he usually plays RB but he can play CB), Bovo, even terlizzi from palermo...all of them r good backup players imo

Well to be fair,

Materazzi is actually a solid defender, but at times he will blow himself up, either by getting the team into trouble or getting the team sent off. Probably it is becos of his time in Inter that his playing time is restricted. If he is playing for a semi-big team, I think he would be picked too. I think Lippi can't think of any other alternatives too. Materazzi can be good at times, in fact I would say he is better than the other 3 options. But if MAterazzi doesn't make silly tackles/elbows or get himself into trouble in amy form, I think he is the only valid option.

Bonera is too shaky for the past 2 seasons.

Bovo? Provides an added dimension in terms of free-kicks, but still doubtful defensive-wise. Very easy to be sent off. Not convincing. Maybe he will be different a few years time.

Terlizzi has become a bench player ever since Papa took over

Castelini is better than Materazzi so are Chiellini , yes at centre back, Barzagli and Terlizi. I cannot see Materazzi's usefulness as a defender whatsoever, he is not solid, he is too shaky , either commits fouls by kicking or tugging of jerseys and the own goal he scored, i mean come on, how can a defender do something like that? We make fun of Zebina all the time but imo he is superior to Materazzi and if Zebina is considered not good enuff for Juve why should Materazzi be in the Nt even as a back up. Everytime he has played he has let Italy down, against South Korea in 2002, against Bulgaria in 2004 and he always looks like an accident waiting to happen

About the shirt...I find it nice..I like the design and I already bought 2kits...one with Dp on the back and the other Nesta.

About Abbiati, I have to agree, he deserve to be there, I'd pick him ahead of Peruzzi anytime anyday.
