Ibrahimovic returns to Juventus? Saturday 8 May, 2010

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has made the extraordinary claim that Juventus could bring back Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.

The Bianconeri-centric media outlet splashed Ibrahimovic across its front page this morning with a brand new transfer rumour.

As Ibra is struggling in his first season at Barcelona and failing to gel with Leo Messi, there are reports he could be on his way out of the Nou Camp.

Few can afford the Swede’s £9m per season wages and he’d cost around £32m to tempt back to Serie A.

The Juve fans would be unlikely to accept his return, as Ibrahimovic left the club in the wake of the 2006 Calciopoli scandal to join rivals Inter.

It is also difficult for the striker to make the move to Juventus, as they have failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Before the thread is closed, lets see why there is not a chance Juve to buy Zlatan this summer:

    - Buffon is the highest earner with 5m eur a year. Zlatan earns 10m eur a year and he won't accept such a drastic pay-cut.
    - His price will be ~35m eur. Combined with his wages, it's way too much for Juve.
    - He wants to win the CL and play in CL. Juve won't play in CL until Zlatan's 30th birthday
    - The fans hate him and being stupid as they are, they will make his stay in Juve a nightmare.
    - He won't like to leave Barcelona after one season.
    - Even if we just get him on loan (which is imo impossible) and just pay his wages (around 20m eur including taxes), that will be too much money in a season when we don't play in CL.

Seriously, I'm a big fan of his, but Zlatan is the past. We need to think about the future.
He's great and all and he knows this league. Even if we get him for cheap and he accepts a big pay-cut, how long will it take until he gets bored of playing football, especially if he keeps getting jeered and insulted by his own fans?

Instead of buying a super talented, but lazy, Zlatan, I'd rather we buy talented, fast and hard working players.

no way in hell Ibra would come back, though as much as i hate him he would walk into our team right now

and as for Liverpool/Iaquinta/Aquilani? gotta be bullshit but i think that could be worth investigating

The only reason I would say no would be because I wouldn't want to hear the "traitor status" being bitched on around this forum. Otherwise hate him all you want, he would out score all our current strikers.

The funny thing about this is the newspaper answered their own questions on why he wouldn't come. Idiots.

on another note there are rumours that Liverpool are planning on using Alberto Aquilani as part of a deal to lure Juventus forward Vicenzo Iaquinta to Anfield:shifty:

    http://www.caughtoffside.com/2010/0...eady-to-offload-aquilani-for-italian-forward/
First of all: No to that :inter: pig. Thats is the worst rumour ever. How can oyu want him when oyu can get Dzeko for the same price? You'd have to be Secco to think like that.

Second: I like that trade. Aquilani played really well the last couple of games for Liverpool. Get him for Iaquinta and sell Momo/Melo/Poulsen. Marchisio, Aquilani, Candreva, Melo and Poulsen would be a real good midfield I think.
