Surgery blow for Knezevic
Saturday 1 November, 2008
Juventus’ injury problems are continuing after the club confirmed that Dario Knezevic requires knee surgery.
The Croatian international stopper twisted his knee in the 2-1 midweek win over Bologna and subsequent tests have revealed the need for the procedure.
The operation, in agreement with parent club Livorno, will take place in Arezzo, Tuscany, on Sunday 2 November.
Only once surgery has taken place will the Italian giants reveal how long the international stopper will be sidelined for.
Knezevic joined the club in the summer on loan from Livorno after the Bianconeri won a transfer tug of war with rivals Torino. He’s played in three Serie A games so far.
The loss of the stopper will come as a blow to boss Claudio Ranieri who is already without eight of his first team squad, including Gigi Buffon, David Trezeguet and Christian Poulsen.
The Old Lady take on Roma this evening in a game which could catapult them into the Scudetto race. They then take on Real Madrid in Spain on Tuesday.
