2021 Minnesota pick is the one Spurs received by trading their 8th pick this year. Also getting rid of Zach Collins is a plus on its own.
But it's a lot of picks. Exciting to see Fox with Wemby.

- - - Updated - - -

4 picks. 2x 2025 picks from hornets and bulls, one 2027 Spurs and one 2031 Timberwolves.

- - - Updated - - -

Spurs now have Cp3, Fox, Castle and McLaughlin for PG position.

- - - Updated - - -

Ok I stand corrected. 2025 hornets pick is top 14! Protected and with them being shit it was likely not going to convey. So Spurs technically lost 3 first round picks and 5 second round picks, 2 of which are the result of hornets pick not conveying.

Also: The bulls pick they gave back to bulls was top 10 protected this year, top 8 protected next year. So had no value for Spurs anymore but full value to Bulls who bottoming out.

It was genius of Spurs to add Bulls to the deal due to that, plus they add Lavine to satisfy Kings and Viveks need to recreate 2024 Bulls and get a crowd pleaser in Lavine. Only gave Bulls salary dumps and their own pick. Kept their own young talents and wing role players.

Spurs just need a good backup center for Wemby now.

I like the look of Isaiah Collier too, strong PG who does everything well offensively. I'll make a prediction that he will go #1, barring injuries. Feel free to laugh/quote me later.

West is ridiculously stacked this year, good time to rebuild. Jazz were fun to watch last year even if not a great team, they ran almost everyone close. Need to give it 20 games or so. I don't care about results in seasons like this but too many guys are hurting their trade potential with many more games like this.

Wolves-Celtics was a great defensive match up, reminded me of NBA gone by instead of this 130 point shit we have now.
You can laugh at me as Collier didn't go even close to #1, his stock declined a lot as USC had a poor season and he got injured, but I'm really liking this kid. He has no jumper to speak of yet, and needs to take tips from Collin Sexton about being a small guy finishing around the rim, but this guy has elite skates and is posting some great assists numbers for a 1st year rookie in a tanking team. In 2025 he is averaging over 8 assists per game. I don't think he'll ever be a super scorer but I don't think it's unreasonable to see a 15/4/10 player, great for a #29 pick.

Apparently Jimmy Butler only wants to join Phoenix. But if he doesn't then Mr Ring Chaser Kevin Durant will throw a hissy fit and get himself out of there, with Mavs and Rockets both interested.

Been an interesting trade deadline so far.

SGA gonna run away with the MVP this year. 3rd 50 pt game in last 7 games. :delpiero:

The Clippers-Thunder Pandemic P trade is gonna go down as one of the worst trades in NBA history. SGA for Paul George straight up is starting to look like it would have been a lopsided trade lol

@KB824

What do you think of Mark Williams? Been super injury prone in his career thus far, and isn’t going to space the floor at all, but gonna be a great lob threat for Luka and Bron and a good rim protector at the other end. Only 23 as well. Younger than Knecht.

The Utah Facilitators should be the new team name. Schroeder saying the trade deadline is "like modern slavery" and then getting traded late is a classic.

Not sure what GSW are doing, they still don't look like a contender. Jimmy gets moved. Shows you how strong player power is now.

Wait, how much for Mark Williams?
Too much. Definitely an overpay based on his injury history. His upside is immense, but an unprotected first that far out, plus pick swap, plus last draft’s first round pick. Seems a bit much for someone that injury prone.

A guy making millions to play a game called the trade deadline modern day slavery?

Aside from that ridiculous statement, I hope he gets bought out and my Lakers bring him back. Loved him here.

Mark Williams is a great get aslong as he is healthy. Double double young beast.

The pick won't matter cuz you have Luka. Will be late 20s. And swap won't likely happen, Lakers with luka will be better then hornets still then.

I also don't think that Williams is very good a defender, albeit on the Hornets. Seems to be when he fancies it.

Schroeder is also a guy who turned down 84m with the Lakers lmao.

Wait, how much for Mark Williams?
Absolutely worth it, provided he is healthy.

He just turned 23. His injury history is obviously a concern, but he is a double double machine and great rim.protector.

Who cares about the 2031 pick at this point. I like Knecht, but he is actually older than Williams. High floor, low ceiling kind of guy, and redundant with Reaves and Luka there.

Williams potential could be off the charts if healthy.

Definitely did not see this coming, as i didn't even think he was available.

Love the trade. Didn't think he was available.

They don't need a floor spacer. They have plenty of those already. They need someone on the blocks.

Don't care about that pick 6 years down yhe road when you have a global superstar like Luka at 25

- - - Updated - - -

And another key point is that they now have an open roster spot and are 3.8 million below the 2nd apron, just in time for the buyout market

- - - Updated - - -

And what this also tells me is that this is definitely Luka's team now.

This move was made with him in mind

Charlotte are trying to aid their tank as well, which this will, so if they end up with Flagg or even Harper from this they'll have done well.

I'm a bit concerned that other tanking teams are weakening and we're sitting here with some very handy players who could be moved, and lots of depth.

Williams' health is a serious concern, for me. Lakers have had too many key guys in recent times who sit games. I get that it's really all about playoff health but surely some risks here. It's all too reminiscent of AD.

He can safely play in Europe
, although they don't pay as much there.

I agree that it is a risk, but the risk reward is through the roof.

In the last 30 days, pelinka has turned Russell, AD, Knecht, Christie and 2 first round picks for Luka, Williams, and Finney-Smith.

All that capital would have possibly been enough just for Luka.
