easy.

Jordan locks down Steph, Pippen slows down Durant, Rodman makes Green his bitch. Harper was a pretty good defender too and had the size to guard Klay. Zaza and Longley is irrelevant. and Kerr is coming off the bench for Chicago so Warriors have no coach

No one was surrounded by more HOFs than Joe Cool back in the days. Defenses had more freedom but no team was as loaded as the 9ers. Maybe the Skins came close but they never had a franchise QB in that period.
In the Jordan years the NBA was very balanced - a number of teams had their 1-2 star player, eventual HOF-er, combos.
Just off the top of my head, just in the East in the 80s-90s you had the Bulls, Pistons, Knicks, Pacers, Orlando, Heat, Celtics battle it out to make the finals.
Today, the Cavs could basically put Lebron in bubble wrap until they play the Warriors in the finals.
Im fucking with you bello

The way some of you motherfuckers talk down Lebron makes me think your sorry asses have never played a competitive game of sport in your lives apart from gym class where there was one kid so much better that you think it's normal for that to happen in pro sports.

It's ridiculous how people these dyas think that the Warriors, even the version with KD on, would have had a chance vs one of the top teams in the 80s-90s era (Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Pistons, etc, etc).
The rules of the game back then - hand-checking and no 3 sec rule - would have made it virtually impossible for players like Curry and Thompson to get to the rim, making their game one dimensional as they would be only dangerous with shooting from a distance. And that's the problem - one dimensional means easy to predict, easy to predict means easy to defend. Curry and Thompson would have had a guy in their face all the time, not giving them the clear view of the basket they are enjoying now whenever they attempt a 3 pointer.

How come they get the clearance to shoot from 3 today? Because with no hand-checking and 3 sec rule, they can attack the rim, making them double-threat players i.e. less predictable. And then there is the matter of the soft calls from the refs in today's game.

Not saying the Warriors would go scoreless vs the Showtime Lakers the MJ Bulls or the Pistons but they quite possibly won't win a game vs those teams, and not only.

As for any Lebron-led team playing one of those teams, well Lebron will be curled up and crying by HT, so no need to worry about that.

I would say that there were more great teams in the 80's than today. Back then, every team had a star, even the Clippers. It's just that the Lakers and Celtics were head and shoulders above everyone else, which speaks volumes about how great those two teams really were. It was, and still is, the greatest rivalry in NBA history. That Rivalry, for that decade was unmatached.

Take a look at the rosters of the 76ers, Hawks, Bucks, Rockets, Trail Blazers back then. Insane. And I know that I'm missing a few squads from that era.
Yes, what I was saying was that the level of competition was tougher, not that all teams were equally good.
@Post Ironic knows that well, he just likes interpreting reality in whatever way fits his agenda. ;)

I started watching the NBA in second half of the 80s, so that period and the following 90s are the same period for me, with the change of the guard being just part of the natural process. What those two eras had in common, however, was that there were many more star players scattered around the league, making the level of comp higher and giving the league more of a level playing field, and the game and the players were tougher. That's not to say some teams weren't better than others, with I would say the 90s having a bit more of said level playing field.

Today there are literally 3-4 HOF, if that, playing in the NBA and there is virtually no competitive basketball going on until the Western finals or the NBA finals. Not to mention that the game today is basically the NBA's version of flag football.

But I assume @Post Ironic has already twisted reality to make it look like Lebron will be bossing the NBA of the 80s and 90s :D

First quarter in this series thats quite tight for once. Cavs pumped up for first home game.

But doubt it will matter in end, seems like they still can't defend the perimeter shots at all.

some of those shots Irving made :tuttosport: how do they even go in
lol I have no idea. He chucks the ball up and it goes in.

Aside from being 0-6 from 3. :p

If the Cavs could get even the slightest production from Tristan Thompson this would be a series. Unfortunately the guy has been complete ass.
The entire cave team has been shit from the 3

Durant hit a 3. Korver missed one. Then Lebron had a 3 blocked by Iggy and stepped out of bounds recovering the ball.

Lebron and Kyrie choked bad in that 4th quarter. They each had like 33 points coming into it and scored like 5 points each in it. Did everything right for 45 minutes to win this game. Pretty big bottle job.
