I'm not Japanese.

Have I used Sony products? Yes, TVs, Vaio laptops, PS since the first one, headphones, earphones. The Japanese still use a lot of their own brands where they can. A lot of companies have struggled in recent times though.

As I finished my second medical speciality, after the exams I decided to replace my S7 edge.
Was fancy trying an iPhone but the only option, the iphone8 with small bezels and oled screen was delayed to practically next year in my country.
LG brings the new flagship in Europe without the 64bg option, without the music sac and wireless charging.
Sony let me down with Z5 and I will not buy a phone with that huge bezels ever again.
Pixels almost a year later are still holding that 1000euro price tag, still huge bezels and no water resistance.
Most of the Chinese phones are huge bezel iPhone clones, mi mix didn't impress me with it's screen, so I passed.
So the only option left was OnePlus 5, the leaks with ceramic looks were sexy, the promise of the new camera that would work wonders in the dark and a quarantined old screen made me hope.
But the Chinese copy genes worked their way in a classic iPhone clones in the back, a 3 year old design and they were more worried to introduce a third camera, like Apple, rather than making it better. And of worst of all, they know have the same price as Samsung's and LGs flagships

So back to Samsung, with the final dilemma being the S8, or the S8+
Because of the battery, I opted for the big one.
It started at 930 euros and it now dropped to 630euros, sweet spot, the right moment to buy it, the best option there is there!
Yes it's tall, but not wider than the S7 edge, so it can be easily used with one hand. It's display is the best there is, surprisingly it's battery is better than the S7 edge, which is the best I ever had.
And as for the camera, the most important thing for me is photos at low light conditions and at this department, it is the best there is!
The bixby is a great flaw, buy managed to shut it down with a free app and it's greatest flaw remains it's 18.5:9 aspect ratio, however when browsing forums it turns into an advantage, as you have access to more text\lines, so that you enjoy more reading with less scrolling.

S8 is new galaxy phone to s7.htc u 11 and xperia xz premium are competitor to the S8.xzp and u 11phones are literally hands down best smartphones going atm the moment. Xzp is super fast beating the galaxy s8 on performance.i always stay away from samsung phones.

Each to his own. I don't have a contract with a mobile company, I will change them as I see fit.
For me now the small bezels, good battery and good night shots are my priorities. I also demand a good gps And waterproofness. Each and every HTC I owned malfunctioned eventually and the last one presented a digitizer issue and HTC tried to avoid warranty by claiming an internal sensor has detected humidity levels, after I threatened them, they admitted it was due to air humidity and repaired their flagship but lost me as a client. Now the serve ads to every one is using the keyboard, preinstalled on their phones.
Sony lost me because of their bezels, the xpZp has the biggest bezels there, a waste of space if you ask me...

I would still like sony to shrink them bezel a little.their phones have dual front facing stereo speakers, which even htc was known for has abandoned.
To me htc u 11 and pixel have the best camers though pixel is very expensive for me.

I really like Huawei p10. And Samsung S8 is pure sex.

I'm still to see whether iphone justifies that price but I doubt it's going to be bad.
It's not going to be bad at all but not useful enough for me (limitations of the iOS). I am in frequent need for streaming tv content on the mobile device (phone or tablet) its almost impossible to do it on iOS but piece of cake on Android devices.
