 top post there alen, people here have very short memories and go on about buying up players "not being Juve" bollocks! we were always a wealthy club,w e always bought up the best talent in serie a and i see no reason why we won't do that in the future. buffon, thuram, nedved, zebina, emerson, etc were ALL bought from rival clubs as have a lot of our legendary players

hell not even delpie is a product of our youth system, but these folk have some romanticised version of history where we use the talented youngsters in our first team and din;t sue them as make-weights to get rival clubs best players
I think the point is that we have had to be smart with our money as we receive no handouts. Man Shitty receives free handouts.

Berlusconi wasted no time taking credit for saving the day.

“Money is not everything to Kaka,” Berlusconi said. “He is staying with us, there are things which are more important than money: we are happy. We offered the player the chance to consider the offer and make himself a fortune, but he has higher values.

“It was down to me and also to him. When I heard he would prefer to stay, that he didn’t think he would be missing a great opportunity and he prefers the values of our flag, the values of closeness and friendship, the warmth and the affection that all the fans have shown him in these days, I said 'hooray’ and we hugged.”

i know its irrelevant now, but earlier on i think it was mark and dule that mentioned that it may have been 50 mill not 100+ i think that might have to do with the tax and that milan would have only received half of the 100+ mill, rest towards tax, or so i've heard.

bellamy 14 mill pounds? and there was me thinking we overspent on Iaquinta

Kaka to stay at Milan!
Monday 19 January, 2009

In a sensational twist, Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has announced that Kaka will be staying with the Rossoneri!

Talks have been taking place all day between Manchester City directors, Kaka's father and Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

It had appeared that a resolution had been found as reports stated that Milan had accepted City's £107m bid.

A statement confirming Kaka's departure was expected within the next 24 hours, but Berlusconi has made an amazing declaration.

“You can't force anyone to stay at a club against their will,” he said live on TV.

“A player who is getting paid half his potential earnings elsewhere runs the risk of becoming unhappy.

“Nevertheless, I will make an announcement - Kaka will stay at Milan because he prefers the Rossoneri and puts love above money.

“The negotiations were closed by myself and Kaka in person. All that remains to be said is long live poo!”

I hardly think that the owners felt their pockets get lighter. For them, its fuck all.

im really doubting hughes' managerial ability. He is like a farmer thats trying to grow fruit and vegetable, and all he can do is grow hay. His style of play is uncultured, as uncultured as luton on a friday night, its pathetic for all that money he has to spend
