Thuram is a thug, a graceful thug, but a thug at heart. Finese is an attribute that should be ascribed to defenders like De Boer, and Carsten Ramelow.
Why does a great player or anything good in football have to be dutch with you and as Mikhail rightly said when it comes to finesse De Boer has nothing on Blanc and Thuram is far from a thug he is very good and is not rash and does not commit silly fouls unlike mr vastly overrated as a defender De Boer

It doesn't have to be Dutch, but I watch a lot of Dutch NT, and I get a little bias here or there. I don't see the problem with that.

And Thuram makes plenty of fouls, especially when he plays in the middle. Yes Blanc has great finesse, I just forgot about him. And De Boer is not overrated. If anything, he is underrated. Just try to name one defender who is both as compitent in defence as De Boer and as capable in passing. There isn't one.

He is a great passer of the ball, I will give him that but so is Le Bouef but as for being a good defender, well I do not think so as he is better suited to sweeping as he lacks pace and is not particularly strong in the tackle as his performances in the heart of Barcelona's defence testifies, I mean without Puyol they are in huge trouble

Well, you're right, but not because De Boer is a poor player, but rather because Christanval is a joke, Anderssen is practically in a whell-chair, and those are the best they have.

Steve Staunton in his youth. Could bend it like Backham, he could, or hit a 60-yard ball onto a penny.

Maybe, but he was never as good a defender as De Boer.

He was a pretty useful left-back, not quite as good, but not that much worse. Part of the Ireland team that beat Italy in '94.

Pretty difficolt but funny! I will do the man of the men with the present players cause it will be endless to di it with the players of all time.

He schould have:

-Paolo Maldini personality and phisical integrity
-Zz "vision of the game"
-Roberto Baggio skill, fantasy and right foot
-Alvaro Recoba left foot
-Raul continuity
-Roberto Carlos powerful freekick
-Davids ability on doing pressing
-Nedved fighting spirit
-Vieri power, headers and "sense of the goal"
-Inzaghi rapidity
-Denilson dribbling
-Ronaldo (when healty) power in "breaking the defences"

Like this I guess it comes out a perfect player who can stay alone in the mieldfield and attakk with not even needing some teammates to win a match...
If we want him to be perfect also as a defender I will add him:

-Cannavaro way of "taking the breath away to the fowards"
-Nesta class on stealing the ball without commiting faults
-Thuram way or going out from the defence with the ball

He still miss something from a goalkeeper... but I don't think he need it, cause with a player like this nobody else will ever see the ball, so never have the oportunity to schoot :D
