What a pathetic joke, kudos for Huckerby for taking it so well as he did and let it slide.

How is this guy even paid for this "reporting"?

Its obvious he is taking the piss, and not caring for a second about the sport, but the issue isnt this fat joke, but the sports news that is degrading its local team as much as they are there, by allowing this crap.

SF-based KRON used to be the NBC affiliate here in the Bay Area a few years ago, which meant a lot more viewership because they got to air big-network programs (first-run "Friends" and other shows). NBC national tried to buy out the local KRON station outright a few years back, but the KRON owners basically dropped their pants on them and mooned them, asking for a lot more money.

NBC national told them to take a hike and they instead canceled their network contract with KRON, making them a pure independent. NBC national instead turned to then-podunk KNTV in San Jose, about 45 miles south of San Francisco, to be the Bay Area's NBC affiliate -- pretty much giving the NBC execs their own chance to wave their private parts at KRON's aunties.

Since then, KRON has operated with independent programming and struggled to stay relevant. Not being affiliated with a large national network anymore, they can get by with a lot more. And they got to keep Gary Radnich and his bad liver. And you can be sure that the station management at KRON relishes any opportunity to take the piss of San Jose, where KNTV is located.

In case you were curious to the backstory behind a local network slagging on a local team like that...

Hehe, takes for the info, appriciated, idiocy will allways be such, even with reasons. Its a shameless mockery nontheless.

They have their axe to grind, and maybe they have sunk so low no one watches them or cares to, but I wonder if how many idiot viewers there are to validate them airing pathetic jokes like the above.

I thought as much, it would be terrible if such a shmuck was working on a actual sports channel.

Huckerby is a legend, did you go on the internet? He is a terrific star. :howler:

Greg, don't ruin my fun. :(
They played probably the only video on YouTube praising Darren Huckerby's exploits. And those exploits only consisted of that fucking run against "Manchester" (whichever team that is, sports chief fat fuck couldn't tell you which one) yet he's some sort of legend.

I don't know whether Greg is right or not about this moron making fun of the sport, but by the way this moron consistently fumbled over club names and player names, it seemed like he was truly fooled in thinking Darren Huckerby is some damn legend. Afterall, this cunt wants more people to watch his newscast, so if he can pull in more footy fans, he wins. But either way, it's clear he hates soccer and doesn't know anything about it. This is like me looking up Curling on YouTube and picking the first name I see as "legendary." Might as well just pick the fucking name of the person that made the video. DarrenHuckFan4Life is a legend.

Dumbasses.

Sorry to ruin the fun, but that's my reality here. A lot of sports announcers here don't think of soccer as a "legitimate" sport. So they get loaded with Jack Daniels before their show, give a token nod to their TV news sports director and make a few comments about soccer, and sometimes have a hard time hiding their complete disdain for the sport while making fun of it.

To put it in terms that English sportscasters can understand: he's taking the piss.
True about hate for football. I would like to see Jim Rome burning, literally, on fire, while hundreds of people blast soccer balls at his head. Fuck that guy.. hard.

Huckerby... scores on the powerplay!

Fantastic stuff, but wait a minute, where are the commercial time outs? You mean we have to wait until halftime to see the new McDonalds commercial? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT???
