There is a gentlemen agreement between the big teams NOT to use article 17, or not to buy the players who will use article 17.
Milan could have bought Ronaldinho for much less if they used that article, but they didn't because that's what the big clubs from G-14 agreed on.

I think it was a smart thing to do because every one of them risks losing a player one day on article 17.

But G-14 stopped existing in 2008 so i don't know if the deal still stands.

P.S: I guess it still does because G-14 disbanded in February 2008 while Milan bought Ronaldinho in the summer of 2008.

Fred doesn't rate Walcott much as far as I know.

I think it would nice if we get him but that means goodbye Iaquinta.

He's been our most improved player this summer, and before his injury he was one of our best players this season(not much of an achievement, most players were underperforming anyway). I just don't rate him as high as most Arsenal fans and the English media does.
