I probably don't watch Lahm as much as you do, but from what i've seen of him, he is fantastic going forward, he can dribble and he can cross with both feet. Defensively, he isn't an easy fullback to get past either.

a few things that do annoy me while seeing lahm play:

- he is a lightweight midget that gets pushed away easily and his stature let him get injured pretty easy (i already talked about that incident where he "broke" his arm just because he tried to cussion a fall with it)

- he is very predictable because he does cut in very often and even playing on the left he does put the ball on his right to get a propper cross in most of the time

- when he does cross with his left you really see that he has a different technique than with his right ... it really looks like he is uncomfortable crossing with his left ... not to mention that this crosses are not the best

- defensivly he is ok (as far as i can judge that) ... offensively to predictable (i already said it after the WC match against portugal "don't they watch videos of their opponents as match preparation?" you can easily defend against lahm when you know the above mentioned.

but i must admit, that i am over critical on german players because they get hyped enough here (in germany) ...

You may be right on this, but i think that Evra, Lahm and Clichy being the best leftbacks says more about the lack of quality than the quality of the mentioned players.

Oh believe me, he is. He has lots of end product forward, but he is often ok at best defensively, but also a disaster waiting to happen at times, that I can assure you. He hardly ever impressed defensively, he just the routines of staying put now and then (but still toyed with at times), but mainly off position as heck.

Do you remember the Turkey-Germany euro game? Where the turk wingers made a laughing stock out of him? Thats his general defensive capabilities. He is a liability defensively when really tested.

Evra is better defensively without any doubt, so is Clichy. But the difference is Evra is as good offensively (though Evra is way less predictable going forward, so perhaps not even that), while Clichy isnt (end product).

I think DC is better as LB and I don't really think we are going to buy both left and right fullbacks.Molinaro signed a new contract plus DC and cover it alsur right side is also very weak and I think we are going to buy someone there.

I think Ranieri is planning to use De Ceglie as a back up for Molinaro and back up for Nedved's replacement next season.So that way DC would get more play time and we'd save some money.

Can Diego be Nedved's replacement if we change it into 4-3-1-2?

We already have many players that can cover the area in the middle.

Just saw it but yeah,something like that.

If we sign him we are not going to keep playing just 4-4-2 and playing 4-3-1-2 is the only way to do it.

Marchisio-Tiago-Camo can do it.Camo is great on wing but he playing in center a couple of times and he was good.Also,he's injury prone so Zanetti and someone else could come in.I guess Ranieri would like it since he's a fan of defensive midfielders and so.

He had a good season last year, but this season he has been blowing hot and cold, he hasn't been consistent at all. Traditionally he does well when playing alongside good defenders, but he is definitely no leader.

I don't think Juve should take a gamble on him, as he causes too much trouble.
