Arteta is one of those players that appears when the going gets tough. I for one would welcome him with open hands in Arsenal, he'd be a definite starter imo.

Boys I've read your recent transfer strategies, but I am missing out a little here...
We sell Palladino, Iaquinta and basically stay up in front with Trez & DP only?
I read about possible transfer of Iaquinta to Napoli and honestly I do not mind as long as we take some cash back. I figured 12 mln euros would be great.
Palladino I cannot see him for more than 15 mln. euros, he is young and talented, but except a few performances he has been disappointing this season. And you cannot blame it all on his position.
So all in all we get ~27 mln. euros in cash and 2 great strikers upfront at the end of this season... Amauri in my opinion is not the best option around there, although he could play well as a single forward. I would highly discuss Kun Aguero or Dimitar Berbatov. If Atletico fails for a CL spot which is likely, because they have one easy game left and it is against injured Valencia, we would have the upper hand and quite a budget. On the other hand Berbatov stated that he is feeling already that he is in the age for a CL breakthrough and wants to move to a bigger team.
Both of these players are better than Amauri and one of them has a huge future ahead.
Middle of the park. I dunno about Tiago, he shown some quality but he must provide more. Maybe it is better to sell. We get Marchisio, and Giovinco on Nedved's place, but Giovinco have a more attacking game and might not adapt well. I still believe that VDV is basicly the best option around since Diego is impossible.
Defence. All the same here. De Ceglie coming, Mellberg... just one big question remains. Stendardo!!! I was amazed by his last games. In my book he is better than Legro. Why spend on Mellberg when we have Stendardo. I am sure we can 'convince' Lazio for a swap deal of some kind. I like this guy - he should definitely stay.

So I would say that if we had to splash some cash on the market:
We get(optimistically)...
27 mlns for the forward line (Palla, Iaquinta)
6 mlns Almiron
10 mlns Tiago
4 mlns Molinaro

47 mlns. Very, very cool. We could spent on Stendardo, I know that he has some shitty loan-deal contract saying he costs 10mln. euros, but maybe we could get him for 7.
So all in all 40mlns to spend in other departments without club injection. How much do you think this will be? I reckon if we target big it would be around another 30 millions.
70 mln. euros and targets Kun Aguero/Dimitar Berbatov, 4th striker (could be someone free and experienced like Crespo), VDV/Attacking Midfielder.
I think it is completely DO-able. Let's hope Secco does it.

Milan just need a few tweaks and they would be a better team then we have atm.
If they do get Flamini, Zambrotta, a new Cb, Bring back Abbiati (or sign Frey)
they will be very strong again.

But lets hope all that does not happen.

It is looking to me like we wont be getting Flamini though..
I do think if we sell Iaquinta to Napoli we should demand Hamsik as part of the transfer.

We can give them Iaquinta, Nocerino and Zala for Hamisk.

I don't think that is true. He is very good for 20 and considering we have a player like Zanetti who is mature and playing very well Hamsik would be ideal for us in the long term. I would have no problem putting Hamsik in our starting 11 against most any team.

He accepted a substitute role and kept scoring goals and saving our ass regardless yet so many people want him gone. Iaquinta has always stepped up when given the chance, he has been so good for us. Giving him away would be stupid.

Iaquinta is a good player but if thats what it would take to get napoli to give us Hamsik then goodbye Iaquinta.. It may seem cold but this is how it should work in a top team.

I'm not saying we should start him but he's a fantastic bench player. He's the type of player that can come in nd change the game in a matter of seconds. He's a good goalscorer and creates havoc against any defense. He can out run almost any defender in serie A, most of us criticized him before he came but he turned out to be our best signing (before Momo came).

I don't think we can find a player that can accept the sub role and be so patient about it. Despite neing subbed by the coach, he always gives his best.

I think he's very underrated particularly because he lacks flashy moves and such. He contributes so much on the pitch, the only reason he hasn't shined as of late is because of Trezale's incredible form.

Well, it still is a disaster...Grygera, Salihamidzic and Iaquinta were Moggi signings and only Sissoko - which we can credit to Ranieri's insistence - has been a good acquisition...we all know about the rest of the new players

I agree, it really shits me that it seems Secco has put Iaquinta on the market and whats more is that it seems Napoli are most interested and Napoli won't fork out a generous amount whatsoever and Marino is smart enough not to trade any of his good signings (lavezzi, hamsik, santa) so i cant understand it.. Although if i could have one player included in the deal it would definately be Santacroce who i rate as Zapata level and even then there is no need for him as we need a CB not just with quality but also experience..

I disagree.. Like most southern italians he will probably feel a bit for the Partenopei, not to mention that Napoli are an ambitious club that will definately have realistic desgins on a UEFA cup place next year..

But the biggest reason why he'd move is playing time.. It's unbundantly clear that Iaq is not of those players willing to get paid for just sitting on a bench.. He wants to play and Napoli can give him this whereas he knows he wont be starting here at Juve

yea but the UEFA Cup is treated like dog shit as compared to the CL ...and a player like Iaquinta who has always been at a "nearly-there" club wouldn't want to go down that road again...
