The thing bro is, whoever impress for a season is and I've been reading posts like this since years now is immidiatly a player considered to be able to replace someone like Del Piero.

Don't get me wrong, DP on top form should always play in front of Aguero top form, but the thing is DP can't always be at his best game in, game out these days, and can even float in and out of matches. Next season, I hope to see him used more sparingly and for more impact. Champions League, Inter, Milan, Fiorentina, Roma, Torino :lick:

Some people think it's just easy to replace someone like Del Piero. Fact is you have to be Del Piero to replace someone like Del Piero...and I'm not talking from a biased point here but reality.
You can't compare them on the human level (personality, leadership, love for Juve) off and on the field...but in the technical (football) point of view u can (i hope u didn't mean 5% serious)...DP is not 25 any more so i would combine them two up front with Treze...

cracka: where did u get avvy pic? coo stuff:juvefan2:

Man how many times do I have to post it!!!
PLEASE READ A FEW PAGES BEFORE:
FOR EVERYONE: AGUERO'S BUYOUT CLAUSE IS 36 MLN. EUROS. He hasn't signed a new contract yet - that is why we are still in the game.
Man seriously, no way on earth atletico will sell the guy for 25-30 million euros its just wont happen. They bought him for 22 million euros when he was just 17!!! And this year he's doing some unbelievable things, if any team is lucky then they'll get him for around 40-45 million euros as one of the posters said....Anyways i think that argantina is very lucky for having both messi and aguero together in their team (its like having both maradona and romario in the same team....).

Of course it isnt easy to replace DP, i'm not saying its easy. But how many more years does DP really have?? i mean a replacement has to be bought sooner or later, and tbh i dont think theres anybody better than Aguero to fill in DP's boots.
100% agree..i mean,if del piero himself was to be asked on whom he would like to be replaced with,i have no doubt that aguero is up there..however i still believe del piero till has 2 years of football ahead of him, well at least thats how i would like to think..this year for CL spot and Euro 08..nrxt year for scudetto,bd then 2010 for CL..
that would be my reason why i dont think aguero should be bought yet..but if he does come o juve at anytime,i will be overjoyed...

Del Piero was alredy Under 21 europeian chmpion. And he was very intelligent on how to help the team. Lippi made the right choose when he let "il divino codino" leaving...

However you can't compare players basing only on their age. At 17 Rooney was better than Maradona at 18 was. Now we are seeing that Rooney will be a great but he wont became the one he was expected to became when he was 17.

Maradona was in line to make the Argentina squad for the 1978 finals. And he was 17 at that time.Maradona showed signs of brilliance since he was 14-15.Rooney didnt.Im sorry, but saying that Rooney was better than the great Diego at 18 isnt right. The only thing is that in this day and age where the EPL dominates media,Rooney was just more hyped up than Maradona was at 17.

As far as how good Del Piero was at 19,thats debatable.I never saw him at that age regualrly, and the same could go for members here who are under the age of 20.Seeing a player when you're 7-8 years old and judging how good he is,is impossible.Unless you've seen complete matches from that time, you cant say how good Del Piero was.And another thing,Baggio left Juventus in 1995.Del Piero was not 19 at that time.He was 21.He had been with Baggio at Juventus for little while, and it wont be entirely wrong to say that he would have picked up a few pointers from him during that time.

Aguero on the other hand, doesnt have the luxury of someone like Roberto Baggio with him for a few seasons. So,its unfair to say if he's superior or inferior than what Del Piero was at 19.

Well look it is pointless to argue on that. That is the reason contracts are made. If Aguero buyout clause is set for 36 mln. then when signing the contract there must have been one of those:
1. Aguero wanted to be assured that he would be able to leave atletico for a destination he would prefer. Not the only one team that could pay for example 45 mln. euros (actually never paid for an youngster).
2.Atletico's bosses decided that if sb comes with 36mln. euros throwing them in front of their noses they would gladly accept.
3.Atletico could not affort to offer a higher salary for the player at that point(or they thought it was not worth it) and unless they sign a new contract with much impoooved salary (not a fact up to now) they must accept this price for the player. And it is quite normal even if you sign the next Pele or Maradona and give him 10 or 20 000 a week you cannot expect to receive 100 mln. for him.
So NO THEY CANNOT ASK FOR 45 MLN. EUROS, SINCE HE WILL LEAVE ON BUYOUT CLAUSE.
I believe that if these rumours that we are chasing him are half true that is the reason why - maybe moggi wrote a letter to secco tipping him on how to actually stay at the club and do some good. (a-la Nocerino call.) And also that the bargain is around Tiago (one of the main reasons we did not sell him to Tottenham I at least hope)

Aguero on the other hand, doesnt have the luxury of someone like Roberto Baggio with him for a few seasons. So,its unfair to say if he's superior or inferior than what Del Piero was at 19.
Exactly what we should be counting on. I think that will be another great thing our captain can do for us. He knows he is not 20 anymore so he would be happy to have sb replacing him in the squad. Not to mention that he has a lot of admirers throughout the players (all around the world) and youngsters such as Aguero would be more than happy to have sb like him around. That will guarantee them that they will accelerate their growth time at least twice. If Aguero stays in Atletico he is going to get better - but he would be unable to obtain that class and quality of the game that you can get only within the best teams, such as Juventus. That is why his manager denied Chelsea.
The only worries I would have is whether he sees the right coach in the face of Ruinieri. But let's hope that with Mourinho on the transfer market Lippi would come back to us. Then I am sure that Aguero would be 100% willing to arrive at Juventus and it would be up to out management to act.

Do you guys seriously expect us to make a 36 million €-deal? For a forward? Aguero is one of the most promising youngsters around. he probably will be one of the most impressive and best players on this world, and i'd love to have him with us, but guys... i don't think we can spend amounts like that, especially not for a forward, when we have a defense like that. I'd say that with that money we could buy someone like zapata, plus maybe another youngster or two for the forward/midfield department.(/or even another Defender)

come on, you just said you haven't seen him that much. You can't honestly pass judgement on a guy you haven't seen. He has really come on as of late, he was the reason madrid beat barca last weekend. He was absolutely brilliant, made milito and puyol look like children. If you were actually serious (which I doubt) about the whole 5% of del piero business, then I can't even have this discussion with you....
When I say I haven't seen enough of him doesn't mean I haven't watched him. I don't have lot of time to watch his games, but I've seen few. And from this few he's nothing to be ahead of Del Piero.

So what If he made milito and puyol look like children? what's your point? Need I mention names that Alex is currently making them look like children?

I still stick to my 5% because like I said I've read and heard lot of these things over the years, this player can over-take Ale's place, this player can do this and that.... infact, none has.

Of course it isnt easy to replace DP, i'm not saying its easy. But how many more years does DP really have?? i mean a replacement has to be bought sooner or later, and tbh i dont think theres anybody better than Aguero to fill in DP's boots.
Trust me Fred, he can still give alot twice what the likes of these young players are giving nowadays. And he proved it this season.

Del Piero's retirement time will come....but we have time till then. And he has alot more to give.

DP was a great player and was on his way of being the best player in the world
He probably would have won the ballon da`or were it not for his serious injury in 99
Aguero now has that same chance...
Altough I agree DP was something really special, you must face it he is not the same player he was before his injury and will never be

The same thing goes for Ronaldo he was probably going to be named with the same breath as Maradona and Pelle but his injury ruined his career
