nice article but i dont agree with it all, Andrade was playing well before his injury IMO.
Yeah. I agreed with the article for the most part. But I can't think of anything that Andrade did that badly, besides getting injured, that deserved that "awful" descriptor. I mean, the guy was playing alongside Criscito, who really was playing awful and letting by goal opportunities in the worst way, but there's nothing in his play that made me want to say, "Let's field Grygera there instead." :confused2

Unfortunately, that served to discredit the author's credibility overall, IMO, and put the bias of the entire article into question.

I trust Criscito.

Ujfalusi or Mellberg for free would be good back up
I'll trust the older and more experience 2008-2009 Criscito... but from now till April, they need a real CB solution. Mellberg might be a decent stop-gap... but they need to have four defenders back there competent enough that the midfield can stop playing defense and start actually being midfielders.

Otherwise, it could be a rough year in the UEFA cup.

Yeah... Andrade was by no means outstanding... but he was solid enough. Had he been playing with reinvigorated Legrottaglie as well as Chiellini and Zebina... he would have looked a lot better.

You're right, that hurt the credibility of the article.

I thought Andrade was extremely average at best, to be honest. He was by no means Criscito's superiour. He did nothing to support Criscito or hide his errors, the opposite rather. He exposed Criscito way too often.

Neither Criscito or Andrade were awful.

Both were trying to adjust to a new league, a new team and a new partner to play alongside. This meant neither were able to do that bit extra to help the other out, as you would have liked Andrade to do as the senior player.

Both can come good, but it wasn't a good idea playing them together to start with, though with our choice of signings there wasn't much option.

I concur...it is too soon to judge both, but it was clear that Criscito was too inexperienced to be heading our backline

i hold Andrade in high regards since his Depor days and i must say i expected more from him. I honestly thought he would carry the defense over his shoulders and even though he did well, it wasn't well enough.

i still think he has a lot to offer though, because he is a class player and the CB position is very sensitive and tbh his teammates didn't help him at all.

getting mellberg would be a very good transfer i think, great experience, was captain of the NT..i dont think we need to spend 8-9 million Euros (coloccini)for this January,if we are to reinforce the backline, then it should be next season, cos when Andrade and Chiellini gets back,we could have a good backline..and then next season,we'll just need to get all our loaned out and co-owned players back..
