Alan Hutton ain't bad. Capello praised him when Scotland played Italy. :smoke:
I can't believe how far Hutton has gone. He is big, fast and strong. His positioning is poor, his tackling is average, his decision making isn't great.

I think it is pathetic that a player who is athletic, but has no football brain, can look good in international football.

Hutton will go to the EPL this summer.

The difference in Hutton in the past year is unbelievable, he was Rangers worst player a year ago, he used to never run past his right midfielder and his head was always down but ever since he scored a goal for them in Europe he has just improved and improved! It just shows what confidence and guidance can do.

I wouldn't say that he is a bad tackler at all, he makes some great tackles. However, I would agree with you that his positioning/decisions are poor at times. But, physically he is excellent as you saw on Saturday when he was having a go at Zambrotta.

and i remember discussing with you a while ago why Big Eck had made a good decision in calling up Hutton when you wanted Hart in instead :p

hutton is the most improved player in scotland by a long way, he now looks top-drawer but its easy to look good in scotland. his decision making is still poor but he will improve, i honestly believe he will go on and be a top-class player

now excuse me will i go flagelate myself for praising a rangers player

i was just about to mention Hutton before i saw your post:D oh well then Papac doesnt look so bad.;)

@Juve Red, he's still only 21 there is room for improvement.
He will only progress if he leaves Rangers so he is being tested every week.

And I stand by that.

My first priority with full backs is that they can defend, and I still think Hart is better at defending than Hutton.

i agree that he should leave Rangers if he is to fullfill his potential, i can also see him going back to the 'Hutton of old' if he goes on a bad run of games and the fans get on his back (as rangers fans usually do)

I would agree that Hart should be in ahead of guys like Murty, but there is noway he should be in ahead of Hutton who has been one of Scotland's best players recently. You need fullbacks to be able to both attack and defend, and Hutton does this well (apart from the very occasional positional lapse) He has proven he can play at the against top opposition in Europe and with the Scotland team sometimes lacking that killer pass and bit of creativity, Hutton is an invaluable weapon with his overlapping runs and crosses!

Bring us fucking Luka Modric! If Secco was there last night and if he's still insisting on Lampard or who not, he's a freaking imbecile. This boy is setting the football world alight and we're not even trying.

Modric can do a lot better than last night. But anyone who saw the game I am sure that they now know what is Modric capable of, his sublime passes......
