He seems (from the games I've seen him in) to have all the tools to be a dominating force on midfield, like Pirlo. Both have good vision, great long shots and are great at controlling the play. Defensively responsible, and offensively gifted. He and Nocerino could be Juventus' dynamic duo in the middle of the field... our Gattuso and Pirlo.

Lampard isnt anywhere near Pirlo's class..end of.
We'd also be getting him for a fraction of what Pirlo would cost. Unless Juventus wants to spend over 20 million euros on a big name midfielder, Lampard at 10 million (£7m) is a bargain for a guy who's not quite as good, but has all the same attributes and blows the existing CMs out of the water.

I never said he was as good as Pirlo, just similar.

Can't honestly say that I see the similarity between the two.

Lampard is a goal scorer, with OK passing. He does not dominate games, it is Essien and Makelele that dominate for Chelsea.

Pirlo is a playmaker and doesn't do much apart from passing the ball. He has improved defensively though.

I can. He's a hell of a lot better than our current full backs.
Chiellini has done very well for a young full back IMO. The only place where I can imagine that Zambrotta would play for us would be as right-back. But we have Grygera and Zebina in that position already.

Chiellini is good but Zambrotta is better and Chiellini is playing centre back now anyways.

Zambro > Chiellini, Molinaro, Grygera and Zebina

Grygera - Andrade - Chiellini - Zambro

subs; Zebina, Legro, Criscito, Molinaro.

If we can add Barzagli too, meaning we can lose Zebina from those 8 that would be a perfect defensive unit for next term, a great blend of youth, strength, pace & power to mount a serious challenge in Serie A & Europe.

As much as I like Zambrotta and we can all agree that is among the best full-backs in the world. I wouldn't take him back since he jump ships in our worst moments. The only way i would take him back is if he would say that he made a mistake and wants to comeback.
