Juventus took a risk buying andrade. they knew that he had a terrible injury in his carrer. That's why clubs like Barca and real bought Milito spending 20 millions euro and same goes on Pepe.

Secco are u listening for once in your life ??

Time to cut the crap and the halfass tactics... this team will be hardpressed to get 4th place unless they sign two PROVEN serie A defenders.

No Ivanovic, or any other unproven player.

Get Barzagli and Cannavaro, and sell Boumsong.

It's pretty stupid to not buy player cuz he had an injury before. He passed medical which means he was ok. It's difficult to predict injuries so you can't blame Secco for Andrade injury.

However it was obvius from the begining that we needed another defender.

Yeah, and Brzagli is hell of a proven defender and ridding of Boumsong is best cuz we already lack defenders why don't we lack even more

Actually, yeah he is proven. He plays for Italy, as well as has experience in European club competition. He's arguably the best defender in Serie A not playing for Roma, Milan or Inter, and would no problem adjusting to the team, unlike foreign options (Zapata as well, he would work too).

Boumsong would have to be sold for economic reasons. Can't sign guys like Canna and Barzagli without losing someone and if possible, a bloated salary. He's not an improvement on any of the defenders available right now anyway.

First do you really expect that we gonna sign both Canna and Barzagli ? I can't agree with you about Barzagli cuz people here are still calling him a huge talent and heir of Canna while he is already 26 yrs. old and he is way off proven. His European experience is like playing dozen of games in UEFA Cup. And the most imporatnt thing is taht you never know how player will adapt to new team and because he's coming from different league doesn't mean anything. (just remember Legro).

And about Boumsong I agree that his salary is way too big especially when you compare that to his performance on the pitc, but however we shouldn't get rid of him until we sign good CB's and plus he still could be good back-up if only our board could somehow lower his salary.

We cant sell any defenders for now,Birindelli will probably retire come next season..so we need someone right now who could adapt well, and can be bought with a cheap price..and for guys saying Ivanovic is not a proven player,i believe he is,he is already in his NT,was captain in the U21..I mean,he can be better than Vidic even, but i can understand why some people would want to rather see a proven Serie A..the fact is,there aren't many good defenders with Serie A experience who would come in January for cheap,I only see zapata, but everyone knows Udinese wants to sell him for a huge amount of $..who else,Barzagli..?i dont mind him,in fact i would have him as the first one on the Cb's list, but Palermo wants to get the CL spot also,I doubt they would sell their captain..Bonera?He could come, but I really have not seen much of him in Milan shirt..I really dont know who has that Serie A experience and would be available for a January transfer...

I'm hoping Chelsea keep Grant as their manager, because the way i see it,he would prefer to start Ben Haim, which could make Carvalho unhappy..Now he is a world class defender..ok, i might be asking a little too much for him though, but come January, who knows we may be leading the Serie A table, then anyone would want to come...ehehehheh

Forza Juve!!Get well soon Andrade.

Well... I'd like to see both, I think its possible. Without getting two though, I wouldn't sell Boumsong.

What do I think will happen? If we're lucky, we'll get one proven CB... probably Cannavaro or Carvalho. More likely someone unproven like Ivanovic, who very well could be an answer to our prayers, but will definitely be a question mark. He doesn't play in an elite team, and his national team is second tier. For all we know, he could end up like Tudor or Kovac... solid for their countries, good footballers, but not what we need to return to a world class standing.

Barzagli is less likely to be the next Cannavaro each day, I think we agree there. However, like I said, Juve needs to pursue players who are likely to fit in fast and know what Serie A is like. He is probably the 4th best Italian centreback though (Cannavaro, Nesta and Materazzi rank higher)

Talk about a guy who has fallen off the map and languishing in the Milan depth chart. He might be a shrewd purchase as a second defender, after someone like Carvalho, Barzagli or Cannavaro.

That goes to show, that there aren't that many good players with serie A experience anymore that would be available this January..and I mentioned Bonera cos he really was a star in Parma, and was also captain of the Azzurrini and a player who could be available in January, but obviously he has lost his way in Milan..And Milan actually bought him thinking he could be Maldini's replacement knowing that Maldini was supposed to retire last season..

to be fear, i happened to see barca vs sevilla yesterday and from what i saw, i think he definitely isnt worth that money.

His a central defender but at times he was going forward and was part of the attacking play as if he was a midfielder. Sure he would have been a better option then lets say legro, but he seems clearly overrated, a central defender shouldnt be spending his time in the opponents field.

i never understood why Milito is so highly rated on these boards..i mean i cant say i've seen enough of Zaragoza to make a fair assesment..but everytime i catch on of their games..or one of Argentinas games...he's never really justified the hype around him..

Dont get me wrong i;m not saying he's a bad defender..no he's a solid cb..but he's portrayed to be world class here..imo he's nowhere near the level of defenders like..Terry,Nesta,Cannavaro,Ayala or Carvalho..in fact i'd even rank Toure,Puyol and Vidic above him.

but then thats just me
