The only problem with Carvalho is that he is coming to an age that he may start to lose his pace, and he is quite reliant on his pace.

Time will tell if he can remain a top class defender for another few years.
Carvalho and Terry make an interesting contrast. When he's on his game, Carvalho can be like Chiellini on crack. Unfortunately for him (and the Portuguese NT), it's been a couple of seasons since his level of play lived up to that.

Terry has been more consistent of the two, and that's the only reason why I might give him a slight edge over Carvalho.

Both contribute a bit offensively too, which is a rarity for two CBs on a club. Terry's headers are legend on set pieces, of course. But Carvalho has an excellent ability to recognize when to counterattack, and he often springs things in motion to the surprise of the opposing team at very opportunistic times.

Why do players show their dongs via webcam nowadays?First Banega,now Young.What's up with that?:rolleyes:
somehow they gotta prove, that they would be in a retards sanity, if they were not footballers that get paid for playing and not thinking... hey, podolski is probably the same ... he would have done similar, but the problem is, he does not know how to switch on a webcam ;)

I don't know how much you watch Terry, but I just don't think he is that good.

As soon as the ball is on the ground he is uncomfortable and he looks horrific when dragged into wide areas.

He is good, but he isn't the top class defender he is made out to be.
i totally agree...

i know everyone will laugh at me for this, but terry does not fit into the worlds best cb for me.

i must admit, that i don't watch the english league very often, but someone who
does so funny mistakes in a friendly national match does just not fit the bill of "one of the best centre backs" for me.

i just remember the situation where he tried to block the ball so the keeper could gather it and some crappy player was attentive enough to go between keeper and terry and just play the ball between the keepers legs and score a goal, while (if i remember correct) terry would have had all the time to clear the ball out of the danger zone or play the ball directly to the keeper who would have cleared it without doubt and danger ...

that was really an amateurs mistake you would not expect of one of the best centre backs ..

Not even the best at United.

i totally disagree. Ferdinand , brown and evra have been out this season. Vidic is leading the manu defense and is solid as a rock. He paired up with a little kid called Evans in center back with John oshea and Gary neville on the sides.
Man U's defense is better than ever thanks to Vidic alone. He was better than rio last year and this year he continues to improve.

Well yeah, being the only one who hasn't been out doesn't make him better? Evans has been particularly good as well.

I just think that Ferdinand is more consistent and solid, last season he was the best in the world.

everybody makes mistakes no matter how good they are.
remember our match with inter when legro gifted ibra two open goal chances. and ibra wasted both chances?

terry is much better than legro but i am saying every defender makes mistakes every now and then. but usually terry is rock. and vidic is much more of a rock yet less of a captain.

that is true, but that is exactly why legro is not considered world class ...

defenders may make mistakes or be owned by a striker, but you expect a world class defender not be "owned" by a player that did not have one full first division season in germany to show for ... in mid 2008 he still played in the second league of germany ...

if you can not surely tell that a world class defender does not make a mistakes against a second league player, than your definition of world class is another than mine ...

that situation should have been a routine situation and perhaps it happened because he was to cocky to clear the ball out, thinking this german nobody would not get it anyways...

Why's that? they are one of the most entertaining teams in Europe.
except they dont seem to score too many goals. I like to watch Valencia (for their counter attacking rediculousness) and Barca. Man Utd are still very good though.

As for the Ashley young thing.. opposing fans should print that "Hand Ball", Censored pic and turn it into a huge banner. That would defn embarrass the hell out of him and be super funny to see him looking at it during a game.

2 Points that i want to clarify:

1) Lescott is a brilliant defender.. the entire everton defense department is very very good. I compared Lescott to Mellberg (someone we have and like) Lescott is way better than mellberg in every footballing aspect. I understand his job is not to score goals but to stop goals from coming in (we don't want a burdisso or a materazzi) .. He does that too.. i was mentioning his goal scoring ability as a bonus to his good defending. He is way ahead of Laursen (villa) in my opinion in every aspect.
Get back to the website and check how many clean sheets and goals did everton concede. Anyway we are more or less on the same track.

2) Regarding ashley young. I see that you watch EPL and you can see that he is worth every penny we might spend on him even if it was more than 30 mill.. and the best thing about him is that he and kuyt will add PACE to the team. We are the slowest team on the planet.. EPL players will give us some pace especially young.

guys, We are talking about the replacement for THE PAVEL NEDVED.. the guy who filled in ZIDANE's shoes more than adequately. A Legend needs to be replaced. back at 2001, Moggi replaced one LEGEND with another LEGEND... i hope Secco can do the same good job. I obviously cannot claim that young will be a legendary player, the point is we cannot say "Player X is very expensive we need a player who is cheap" You cannot get a player with Nedved's quality cheap...... never going to happen.. if we find someone we like we must pay whatever he is worth to get him we cant think money especially when we are trying to replace nedved.
Again as i told you, Think back 2003, do you see diego, capel or any other capable of providing what nedved and zidane did? (i know they have quality but they cannot replace nedved)

Zidane===>Nedved====> ?????

Malouda= Fuck no
Kuyt= never on his own will he turn the tabe.. can replace camo not nedved
Swcheinstiger= too late for him
Messi and the likes= :) but impossible
Diego = maybe but not probably
Young= higher possibility than Diego
Robben= maybe, but he will be injured and would fuck us.
Ribery = YES at any price
I dont think Kuyt is would give us much , ok he works hard and what not but he is not creative and would be out of position at LM.

We don't need to consider pace too much because whoever we get will be an improvement on Nedved in that department but I want someone who has the same creative impact NEdved has in his prime.. someone who kicks our entire offense up 1 or 2 gears.

The EPL is not the only place you can find a player who would speed up the whole attack and add creativity. A Player like Silva could defniatly do that for us. Ribery, Diego, Robben and YOung would all do that too. I would take any of them but they are all expensive.

As for Lescott he is good for Everton but he is not a player we would go out and spend alot of money on bringing in. If he was free like Mellberg then great .. but he isn't. SO Our money would be better spent elsewhere. Lescott and Laursen are not top CBs, like Vidic, Rio, Terry, Carra, Carvalho..

While I dont' think we can sign a top cb like those players we can sign a player who is highly rated and has potential to become a player like the ones mentioned. Thats why I would sign a player such as Zapata or Agger and not a player like Lescott will will only ever just be a good defender. We already have Leggro and Mellberg for that .. we should be looking for a great one.

compared to last season, they bore me to death this season, so much so i've switched to watching barca for entertainment purposes
Obviously they were more entertaining last season. But they're still a joy to watch this season, at times they were mesmerising (The West Ham game). But in no way can they be compared to Barca in terms of entertainment.

i most certainly switch off watching man utd when darren fletcher comes on. They actually bored me to death when i went to see them play Qpr about a month or 2 ago. Hate to say this but ive taken an interest to barca and how they've been playing this season 1 loss and a draw this season comming from their first 2 games of the season is impressive, and their goalscoring record which they look set to beat, previously held under Van Gaal (how many i cant remember exactly)

Why do you hate to say it?

Has most in this forum been conditioned against their football? Seems like it. Like its embarrassing to (admit to) like the football they play?
