TBH I don't think we ever seriously looked at him although we should have done if we want to be a top club again.
Ur right, we never looked at him but we should have.. 20 million is not that much considering Tiago was 13mil & Almiron 9mil.. Shame cos of the games i watched him, i can see why all the balkans are crazy about him, oh well

I just cannot get over Spurs getting Modrić for £15.5m, and we using 13m on Tiago, and 9m on fucking Almiron, what a fucking joke and coupe by Spurs, fucking english... :(
If it has been for 15.5mil as reported than that is an absolute steal.. I thought Dinamo would auction him off for the highest bidder (espcially with Barca) as Balkans are usually shrewd businessmen

I think that the whole idea of spurs' project to break into CL and big 4 would have swayed the descision plus they have an exellent manager in juande, to put it another way spurs are definatly on the up and I can't blame modric for wanting to be part of their rise. And well done to spurs for getting an absolute gem of a player for such a decent price

Yeah but not to over emphasize the point that we missed out but.. Spurs might be challenging for a CL spot whilst we might be challenging for the actual CL??, which one would u prefer?

Trust me it was not his decision to go to Spurs or he wanted to go there , Zdravko Mamic is the only person who decides where his players will be sold , i don't think he cares about their wishes where where they want or don't want to go

Yeah but Luka is like a son to him. :howler:

Anyway, wanted or not, career-wise I think this is an excellent move for Modric. A strong leauge, a strong club on the rise with good financial backing and probably a guaranteed starting place. Shine a year or two there, his beloved Barca won't be far away.

I can't wait for next season, EPL is getting more interesting to me. :p

pretty simple, which league is better nowadays? England, even though I hate to say it
would you rated playing front of full 30,000+ stadiums each week or play at the Olimpico, where we only got 19,000 when we played against Roma?
You can't doubt the fact that he made a good choice

I was only referring to Champions League status not comparing domestic leagues such as EPL to Serie A.. I dont neccesarily think he made the wrong choice but given he performs to his ability I think he'll be wanting away from spurs in at least 2 years time if they dont break the top4 which is pretty hard, but the spurs are definetly taking the right steps by signing a player of his class so i guess we'll just have to wait and see

U definetly not comparing juve with tottenham!!! Juve is one of the giants in europe where tottenham is not even in top 4 in england....only clubs that comparable in a way with juve from england r man united and liverpool only....... If we ever offered him the same $$ he'd definetley would move to juve but we didn't.....

Historically yes. A few years ago yes. Now NO
give me one giant W.C buy we have made in the last 2 years. You cannot seriously say we are competing with the likes of man u and barca, why did milito join barca when we offered more money? It's because we aren't at the same level. We are better than tottenham but we aren't the team we used to be.
If you think so your head must be up in the clouds.

Florent Malouda wouldn't be a bad option...
I think he would be a great buy, he's about 28 i think, would be great for left hand side, and he has loads of CL experience he would be a smart buy
doubt secco would do it though, i would rather have malouda than lampard anyday
