Cassano demands scare Samp
Wednesday 19 March, 2008

Sampdoria are determined to sign Antonio Cassano on a permanent basis, but it seems that they may lack the funds necessary.

Cassano is at Samp on loan from Real Madrid and is looking to kick-start his career after a terrible period in La Liga.

The fiery Bari native has shown both sides of his character this term. He has turned in a series of inspirational performances, but he is currently serving a five-match ban for throwing his shirt at the referee after a red card.

Despite the problems with his temperament, the Blucerchiati have made no secret of their desire to sign Cassano when his loan expires this summer and the ex-Roma man has claimed he is keen to stay.

However, reports suggest that there is a big shortfall between Cassano’s wage demands and the sum that Samp can afford to pay.

Doria sporting director Beppe Marotta met with agent Giuseppe Bozzo earlier in the week, who told him that Cassano wants around £2.6m per year – around £1m more than Samp’s provisional offer.

There are rumours that Inter are waiting to pounce if wage demands prove to be an unassailable obstacle and Juventus could also enter the frame if their bid to lure Palermo’s Amauri is unsuccessful.

please don't... the last thing we need at this moment is a shithead who destroys the team-morale. He would be benched anyway and being the jerk he is, he'd probably make a fuzz out of it... He was/is a good player, and i mean that. But it's not only about the feet, but also about the head. I thought he would have learned out of his mistakes after his madrid experience, but his latest games proved that he still is the person he was before. A clear NO from me.

Somehow,i expected you to be the first person to diss the notion i have of Bridge:D

I wouldnt call them average.Im not a fan of Ashley Cole, but even he is pretty good going forward.Bridge has a much more balanced game IMO.They arent world class by any means, but calling them average isnt really fair. They are pretty good players.

Arsenal Waiting On Flamini Decision
Arsenal have confirmed that they have made Mathieu Flamini a proposal over a new contract and are now waiting patiently on an answer from his side.

galleria zoom The highly rated young Frenchman has recently declared that he wants to stay on at the Emirates, but Gunners fans won't breathe easy until a new contract is confirmed considering the persistent efforts by Juventus especially to convince him to switch club colours.

"We have made him [Flamini] a proposal," confirmed Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

"We have heard from his representatives but they have not given us a response."

Flamini, 24, will be a free agent in June if a new deal cannot be agreed. His departure would be a huge blow to the club, considering that he has blossomed into one of the finest central midfielders of his generation and has formed a formidable partnership with Gunners goldenboy Cesc Fabregas.

On the topic on this thread, if i were Secco i'd give Flamini a bumper contract which Arsenal can't compete with.. His performances lately have been no doubt world class espically when he completely owned Milan, the guy is absolute beast!!! Ofcourse Secco wont have the balls to piss off Arsenal but hypothetically his arrival would mean the end of Nocerino & maybe even Tiago which isnt that big of a loss

What about signing the Empoli team? Surely next year we will get a pleasant 'draw' again!
With what have been coming lately from the management I am loosing hope on any known world signings. In my head at the moment is signing those players that are not even listed corectly in FIFA 2008 for example.
Hate that management. Maybe when the captain retires he gets to be a president... hope so at least. Feeling like it is pointless to think about VDV/Diego/Flamini/Aguero signings and better concentrate on our new young star - 30 year old Alex from Fenerbahce.../I hoped it was Alex from Chelsea which might make more sense even/ Guys what are these shitheads going to do? Is there any chance left on the side of SIGNING valuable players anymore?
