Imagine playing a trident with Drogba, Iaquinta and Trezeguet

Are you telling all of us to imagine it or you're telling that to Rab ?
Because i don't think Rab will like that trident :doh:

Personally, i'd like an attacking midfielder who'll be considered as the best in the world. Someone like Kaka in Milan. We've had Platini, Baggio, Zidane and then Nedved in 2003. Or someone who plays support striker role like Del Piero did before the injury or like Shevchenko in Milan and Zlatan in Inter.
Someone who'll be able to bring trophies single-handedly and by whom our team will stay remembered in the history.
It's been a long time since we had such a player.
I like the team as a unit philosophy from Capello days when people were scared from Juve as a team, not from a particular player, but i'd still prefer to have the new Platini, Baggio or Zidane in Juventus.

The bad news is, i don't see such a player on the market.

I like your idea also but still Drogba, Trezeguet, Iaquinta is one hell of a forward line.

Playing with multiple big centre forwards is at it's best if you have players crossing from the flanks. By playing with three big men, you limit the width of the midfield, which in turn limits the amount of crossing, limiting the effectivity of your forwards.

The defensive phase becomes more difficult also and i'd bet build-up play could be problematic.

Iaquinta could be on the bench or play on the wing. Either way, let's forget about Drogba. Judging by who we are linked with, we could see something like this:

I don't mean one strong player with the others being average. We still need top quality everywhere in the team.
But to win a tournament you need to have players to make things happen. Players we used to have in the past and we're short of lately.
Quick look at the CL winners from previous 10 years and you can see that in 80% of the cases they've had such a superstar, be it Kaka, Ronaldinho, Gerrard, Effenberg or Zidane.

Just look at our current team. Put Roberto Baggio from his best days to replace Almiron and i'm sure the whole team will start playing 50% better. He'll make them play better. And when things are tough, such player can always step up and win the match for us. (something Kaka was doing for Milan last year)

After Del Piero retires, I'd like someone with his style, though it's not easy finding someone with his quality, but someone like Diego would be hot.

I won't be happy.
We bought Tiago for 13 mil , we didn't want to pay more than 5-6 mil for Mavuba. If we make a direct swap it will practically mean that we bought Mavuba for 13 mil.
