Hah, yeah... I didn't realize there was that thread... as well, I didn't expect my post to go beyond a "I hope they focus on defenders... bring in Barzagli, Luisao, Frings, Almiron, Huntelaar and Bianchi" but I just kinda started typing and went with it.

Milito is class as well, I just figured Luisao might be an easier acquisition... and it gets him out of Fiorentina's hands, where he could be a problem. Alex I don't think we have a chance at, I think he's Chelsea bound.
There is no problem, still in the right thread.

I'm not much of a Ljungberg fan either.
Despite his age, he is still a hard-worker besides being free on the summer. But I agree, he wouldn't be the best solution for our midfield, I prefer him as a backup though.

Other than him being injured 24/7 I'd like Freddie. He's IMO the smartest runner in the game today and is absolutely brilliant in opening up spaces for his teammates. Though he's not that good of a technician, but if cheap, sure. I'd certainly think he could be useful.

He'd also bring some great pace to Juventus.

Some swedish bias, or plus sized knowledge if you'd like. :lick:

If he was 4 years younger and not so injury prone, I would take him. But now I think he doesn´t have much to offer.

I´d like Ribery instead. Or Malouda.

I hope we can get Boulahrouz...the guy is a legend despite having a complex. After what Robbie Kean did to him in the first leg's match.

So, Boulahrouz....NO.

:D

would a midfield made of Camoranesi, Ribéry, Frings and Nedved work?
Who would take the center role? Pavel? Camo?
Would it be easy for the opponents to break that mid?

please discuss :D

After what I heard earlier today about Ribéry being linked with nearly all the European top sides, I've got depressed.

Anyways, such a midfield would be great. Ribéry can take a more advanced role in case of attacking or tend to the left flank, and Frings to secure the area in front of the back four. In case of defending, Nedved to partner Frings in the centre midfield and Ribéry to play in front of them with Camoranesi on the right flank and retreating to assist Frings as well. Generally, Pavel and Camoranesi to take more defensive roles depending on the situation.

In case of defending:
Camoranesi----Frings----Nedved

Ribéry

In case of attacking:
Frings----Nedved

Camoranesi-------------------------

------------------------------Ribéry

yeah, you can even switch Camo and Neddy. It's very plausible.

I don't think our defence will be good enough next season to work with a midfield that won't give it that much protection. As much as most of us don't like it I think 2 defensive mids may be necessary for at least one more year.
