One of the biggest clerics in Al-Anbar province in Iraq Abdel-Alim Al-Saadi who happens to be one of my best friends uncle, he is also the most important religious figure in the province. He was shot and killed yesterday in front of his home by 3 unknown people. They came to his house, knocked on the door, his eldest son Ahmad opened the door, they asked him to call his Father, when his Father came out they shot him at close range and killed him.

Al-Saadi has been threatened several times by Al-Qaeda because he issued a fatwa that ordered Iraqi's to stop killing each other(Shiites and Sunni's). This didn't sit well with the cold hearted murderers that are Al-Qaeda, afterall killing innocent people was their forte, how could a cleric from the same sect they were issue a fatwa that ordered people not to kill each other? They warned him several times to retract the fatwa, but he refused.

May you RIP Sheikh Abdel-Alim Al-Saadi.

Man tries to pay tax with 200,000 pennies

RIPON, Que. - A Quebec man, fed up with his skyrocketing property taxes, carted more than 200,000 pennies down to City Hall to pay his bill. But he was denied, and asked to simply cut a cheque.

Normand Czepial of Ripon, Que. — less than an hour's drive northeast of Gatineau — arrived at City Hall on Wednesday with a children's pool filled with 213,625 pennies.

Czepial's property tax bill reportedly rose by nearly $4,000 dollars last year to $6,400. Czepial tried to pay with pennies to protest the hike.

Ripon Mayor Luc Desjardins was surprised to see the stunt, but had to tell Czepial to find another way to pay his bill.

Under the Currency Act, nobody is obliged to accept more than 25 pennies as payment for any product or service. Normand Czepial, unfortunately, was 213,600 over the limit.
