We could use him just for the reason that if Dybala goes down, we can no creative advanced players.

You could always rotate James and Dybala in the middle depending on whether you want to rest Dybala.

And then rotate Cuadrado, Mandzukic, and James.

Both Cuadrado and James can play both wings.
The only thing is James will need to be willing to back track.

I disagree you cant buy players that dont fit in just because they are available. Thats a Man $#@!ty thing to do but not us or a team like Bayern. We prioretise and get players that fit our mentality and focus we want on the team.

I agree somewhat. But if you can find a real deal on a player with very high potential, you should be willing to be flexible with your tactics.

If Messi was willing to sign on a free, would you say no because Dybala plays in similar areas....of course not.

And seeing as it happened a few days afterwards, I don't really see any reason to believe that there's any direct connection

Why are you acting like James is free or he is a steal? He will be an extremely expensive player and on a huge salary. You dont get that player for rotation IMO unless you are real Madrid. If we are in a position to buy 60 mil player for rotation I would be pretty happy but I dont see that being the case

Did not say he was free. He is a steal. It is one of those situations where one of the Spanish giants push away a potentially world class player.
I also never said he would be a rotation option. But when you compete in the coppa, the champions league, and serie a, you need some rotation.

As I said, if Dybala gets hurt, you have no good TQ option, and then you see a 3-5-2 with Mandzukic and Higuain. James can also play in any of the AM roles, and can play as a CM in some instances as well.

You can literally make each one a sub every 5 games, but more than likely, you'll get an injury.
Mandzukic probably has two years left, so you gotta start planning for the future.

Somewhere between 45-70 depending on competition. I think he will leave. If there is some demand, probably 50-60. If there is a lot of demand, 70. If there is surprisingly low demand, 45.

Lets not forget Jjames can play as a winger too, when he 1st arrived at Porto he played on the left, then was moved to the right and to the centre. At Real too he played all over the place, even as a CM in their 433 and RM/LM in a 442 under Ancelotti
