What's funny about it? They are running their club better than most.
What Zizzi said - they are in a financially great position and do well enough to maintain that. However they don't ever win anything and their great plan of recruiting the best young players from around the world ultimately failed. How can they be considered to be the model to follow?

Because they are a club/company with their finances under control and that stay competitive in a strong league as well as Champions League. The last few percentages that is required to win CL and PL hasn't been on Arsenals side primarily 'cause there are three big spenders in English football.

How is that not a model to follow in modern football?

But let's call Chelsea and City role models instead?

It's limited how many clubs that can win a trophy each year, which makes Arsenal a great example to follow when it comes to a business model, heck even to some degree Wenger's lust for young players.

The idea of Arsenal being a laughing stock across this board is really pathetic, realising they have done better than Juve in CL the last 10 years.

I was not being ironic. Arsenal IS the ideal way of running a football club. Chelsea, City, United etc have all invested billions more then Arsenal over the past 10 years. Wenger is finally spending (Ozil, Sanchez) and they're doing quite well. I'm no Arsenal fan but that's because i don't support any team in BPL. Arsenal stay competitive while financially outsmart anyone else in the league. Now that Wenger is signing big name players they're the ideal team to learn from.

In a few years we can hope to table €40m offers for key players as well.
