But the people who watch wrestling fully support certain wrestlers and act as if they're supporting real athletes. I mean, there are people in the world who support lower division football teams, because it's exciting to hope they get promoted, but who in their right mind is gonna support a no-name wrestler who has no chance of winning because that would get low ratings...

Well about the mangas and the looney tunes....... i think that the animes can be much much more dangerous than the looney tunes.

What u said zizou is right , but the mangas sometimes shows much much more violence and gory mainly....... sometimes gory and sex combined.

I really dont understand how the japanese boys dont kill themselves with all those mangas that must be very easy to find if u live in japan.

Maybe a japanese can say something about this.. :)

Errr.... there are actually a lot of self killing happening here... teenagers and adults alike.... but i would put being godless and their harakiri tradition as the main couse more than animes...

harakiri tradition?

if u watch The LAst Samurai u will notice that its hnourable for the Japanese to kill emselves if they lost in a battle...

although it is an ancient believe ( although it is still highly practised during WW2 - DUring the great battle of Iwo Jima out of hundreds of thousands men strong Japanese army, the US only manage to caught 17 prisoners ..) , but they still bear in mind that its not a bad thing to kill yourselve..

Oh I must have read or seen this in some movie. Japanese don't seem to fear death.

Last Samurai must still come here; looking forward to watching it.

yes ive heard of hara-kiri. im not sure what to think of it. i tend to think of it as despicable, but devotion and loyalty like that is something special.....

hmmm...... well they dont follow it now i suppose.. at least not after the late Emperor Hirohito , Japan WWII emperor , make an annoucement that his is no God and the people must progress without depending on ancient myth...

but Harakiri was as good as any martial law during the world war 2.... so devoted were they to their land and their emperor.... they wouldnt forgive themselve for any type of failure... the strength to slash their own stomach with a dagger came from their own initiative.. no outside pressure... prisoners of any kind would be released just by a promise to do harakiri....

but my points is.... society with such culture would always tend to do more suicide than society with say Islamic or Christian background where suicide is a n absolute no-no ...

hafiz isnt killing themselves if they fail to win or something is called "kamikaze" ?

anyhow I think jap cartoons are more dangerous than looney tunes. I'm not talking bout those cartoons where they have flying powers or anything- I'm talking bout those cartoons that use swords. Blood spatter all over, etc etc, its very violent.

what a poor kid, addicted to porn. the things people do

I heard people complain before, it's a sort of disrespect for them.

Yoshimitsu from Tekken has a move called Harakiri. He stabs himself in the stomach and takes damage  It took me a while to figure out that you're supposed to do it when the opponent is behind you :wallbang:

I heard that when a japanese commits suicide like this, the actual wound to the stomach doesn't kill them, because a lot of the time they have someone waiting to chop their head off, since the pain from the stomach slash is too much
