OK, what we are going to discuss here is not meant to jynx anyone or anything, it is just SPECULATION:

If everything goes wrong, without serious injuries, what is the lowest possible position Juve will finish? What if Juve get no "help" from the refs? what if the Serie A would suddenly figure out how to counter Capello's 4-4-2 defensive tactics, would Juve then become the feared average?

Let's have it, lay it on me.

I think the worst realisticly possible position is 3rd. Besides Milan, Inter seems to have a good enough squad to finish above us. Roma is more interested in creating chaos then playing football - I'm sure the Cassano saga isn't over yet. Udinese was great last season, but they will suffer from the sale of their two best players and their coach.

That reminds me when Bayern didn't qualify for the knockout stages 2 or 3 years ago.

I don't know, without any 50/50 calls from the refs, and bad games from your top players, I would say 6th would be a blessing.

I think that we should finish among the first 3 but.Roma,Lazio,Sampdoria,and Fiorentina (with their renforcements-Frey,Pancaro,Fiore,Brocchi,Luca Toni ) should be also dangerous but more realistic they will pluck the points from the first 3 teams (Juve,Inter,Roma).

If everything goes wrong I think that we will be 3rd,which is not disappointing.
I expect shaky season,when Nedved retires but this season hi is going to play as well.

Parma may sneak some points out of Roma, hell, I could beat Roma on a bad day, but I think they are going to be lacking in the scoring department with their golden boy going to the San Siro, dogg.

if what burke said in his first post actually happens..and if teams like parma,roma and lazio hit form again...i doubt wether we'd finish in the top 4.
im not ruling out the possiblity of roma hitting form this season.spaletti is a very good coach and he has enough good players under him to turn roma into title contenders..provided that he doesnt allow them to self destruct.

lazio..im still not sure wether they can put up a serious fight..but you never know.they havent made any major signings and they dont have the big names they did 2-3 years ago..but good team spirit and hard work can do miracles.

as far as parma and fiorentina are concerned...both of them have enough young blood to do well.especially parma.yes,there is no gilardino,but they've still got some extremley talented young players.fiorentina have signed fiore which will be a big boost.though nakata's possibly departure to bolton and the absecne of chilleni,maresca and miccoli will hurt them,..i still think theyve got enuff to finish in the top 6.

milan,inter,roma,parma,fiorentina..i expect the former three to have great seasons and the latter two good seasons.
so the regular order at the top of the table might be restored again.

Good stuff. I agree with all of it, especially what you said about Parma, they do have some good "diaper dandies."

I agree with what you said about Miccoli leaving. Without him, they may have a swift kick in the balls coming.
