It's a crock of carp..

Been around from the earliest days of Christianity. Been proven wrong a bazillion times.

I mean, if the author presented it as balderdash--fine...but he sites "sources" in the book all discredited. Many of the sources are misquoted.

Christianity is the last "bashable" thing:

Racism a major taboo(and rightly so)

Anti-semitism a major taboo (ditto)

Anti-Islam (ditto)

but Anti-Christianity---particularly Anti-Catholicism---go right ahead.

Imagine a similar film slamming, say, Tao-ism. Just would not happen (and rightly so)

And for what, really? It's sad.

There are catholics actively protesting this film outside the cinema. It's one thing to disagree with it (i'm sure its all wish wash, its a story after all) but to be that insecure in your beliefs that you let a story book affect you that much?

a) Have you read the book?
b) If you have, you know that there's no such thing as "bashing christianity" in it. He bashes Opus Dei, which even though I'm sure it's not even near as bad as he makes it seem, is still a S-E-C-T. And I don't trust, want or tolerate S-E-C-T-S.
c) Christianity the last bashable thing? Get real. You go to church every sunday to drink Jesus' blood and eat his flesh. Doesn't that strike you as odd? If some Indian guy does the same, he ends up in an Indiana Jones movie.
d) I read this in some magazine today: apparently catholics in America have created a video in which they showed many people believed the Da Vinci Code was real. Fact was substituted with fiction. The journalist bluntly stated: kind of like the Bible.

Bah catholics. They whine and whine and whine. God this god that. We have to suffer here, we have to suffer there. And if we haven't suffered enough yet, we'll go to hell to suffer some more. Sex is wrong, alcohol is wrong, having pleasure is wrong, killing Jews is right, killing Arabs is right..

Change the film to anti-Italian. Would you be surprised to see Italians protesting it?

If he had discovered something new and wanted to present it fine (even if showed the Church negatively)...but to re-hash old carp, is as racist or better Christianist as possible.

Don't push Christians into a victim's role. It's Christians that made my childhood hell whenever they could

Oh FFS. You and your little delusional world. He's not anti-christian. And what if he is? Christianity has fucked up for 2000 years running now, perhaps it's time to try something new. I honestly don't know how you can still be proud to call yourself catholic.

And guess what Lou, you guys are just protesting it, because you want to protest. Because that's what you catholics do. You go to each other's house and jack away over what this neighbour has done wrong or what his daughter did with some black guy. You would never say it in the open though. No, you sneaky little judgemental freaks.

I am sorry. Honestly. They were not following the teachings of Christianity, then, and were wrong.

Oh they very much were, Lou. That's what makes it all even worse. That so called love you spread around. Saying "amico mio" doesn't make me your friend and doesn't make you a good person. It's retarded, fucked up and scary though. And above all it's so fucking christian.

a) obviously

b) it isn't a sect...it's a movement...like Franciscanism

c)Non sequitor

d) So. Pointing at those who don't follow a religion (they are lying, after all) as examples of that religion is the oldest anti-Church trick in the book. and proves nothing.

Do you even know what a non sequitUr is?

It is a sect. I hate to break it to you, but there's no doubt about the fact Opus Dei is a sect. It's NOT a movement and it's NOT like Franciscanism. And to be even more blunt, christianity is a whole is also a sect, just a bigger one. You still haven't responded to why you consider it normal to be drinking Jesus' blood and being delighted when filling your stomach with his flesh.

Wow. You can violate CS over and over and over. Don't worry---even if you're banned--again--they'll let you back in. Again and again.

God forbid if we mere mortals, we second class members say Capello is wrong, though. Then it's yellow cards and banning. With no 2,356th chance.

Yes, yes, yes. Typically catholic, again. Such a hypocrit. I seriously want to know how many lives you guys have destroyed. "Did you see what that Seven guy said? I feel so violated." Well boohoo.

And besides, telling you saying amico mio all the time is retarded isn't exactly worth a ban, is it?
