I'm not saying by the actual people although celebrities marry other celebrities and it shows in the marraiges. I think by Hollywood and magazines. The guys in there always listed as the hottest ever are never the hottest. It's a media conspiracy. Why are the majority of the most beautiful guys in the world by our media always 40 year olds and up and the most beautiful woman 30 and under? Who runs Hollywood? A bunch of older men. For example, the movie the Holiday why in the world does Kate Winslet end up with the fat Jack Black who is nothing near handsome. I liked the movie but the reason I didn't love it was that Jack Black was set as some handsome lyrical crooner. No thanks. Let's see the hot guys please. Hollywood has about 15% instances of true love. I'm not a superficial person but I believe that Hollywood should give us girls the same things it gives guys. Currently it does not. I just want equality. I want to see just as many hot guys as there is hot girls in a movie. That is all I am asking

When the vote is pretty much 99% to 1%, you can't really argue. Perhaps most girls just have different tastes than you.
I mean, Hollywood propagates skinny girls as the hottest or whatever, but instead I find someone such as Maria Carey hotter than most models. Is there a conspiracy there? I could make an argument for that, but knowing that many guys think the same way I do (not the consensus though), it's irrelevant.
I only said I was part of the "1%" in quotations not saying I beleive I am in that "1%" you speak of that thinks Tom Cruise is gorgeous.
Oh and not to be annoying but it is said that Hollywood image of skinny girls being the hottest is considered to be propaganda that is put out by Hollywood by many many people in psychology and other areas.I would continue to argue this with you but I don't think its really worth it. I am a female and you are a male and on topics like sexism in Hollywood, females and males will not agree. That is just common knowledge.
Yes I am biased towards the fashion industry....which explains what? I'm confused by what you are implying.
The Women's Council thing is actually a NYC thing I go to twice a month where women talk about different issues facing women like the media's portrayal of females, etc. You might not know but I am big on women rights. I wouldn't call myself a feminist but I would say I am borderline feminist.
You know you are right. It isn't a random sample of people in the USA. It is a buncha girls at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the gay guys who also go there (so I would make the tally of gays about 20). I'm sure I could do a random sample of the US and come up with more than 51% agreeing.
But I could care less about doing that research. I can see it happening and I know other girls feel the same way. I have had this convo with many girls.
It is all just my opinion and the people I have come in contact with along with some books I have read. Last time I checked I am entitled to my own opinion and I don't have to back down because I didn't conduct any scientific research on my own to prove it.
