Bologna are out of the Coppa Italia after ten-man Vicenza collected a surprise 2-0 victory at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

The Serie A side did go into the game as firm favourites for qualification after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.

But two late goals from the Second Division outfit were enough to punish Francesco Guidolin’s side that wasted numerous chances.

Vicenza had a man sent off after just 17 minutes when Michele Marcolini got himself dismissed.

But the Serie B outfit remained solid as Julio Cruz squandered a number of opportunities for the home side.

They proved to be costly errors when Alessandro Sgrigna netted in the 88th minute. His long-range effort took a slight deflection off Paolo Vanoli to loop over goalkeeper Ferdinando Coppola.

Vicenza made it two in the 92nd minute when Stefan Schwoch was brought down from behind by Marcello Castellini in the penalty area. He picked himself up to ensure a 3-1 aggregate victory.

The Biancorossi will now face Roma in the quarter-finals.

    Bologna 0-2 Vicenza (1-3 agg)
Scorers: Sgrigna 88, Schwoch pen 92

Bari kicked Inter's arse out of the Coppa

Yes, it's true .. Inter are out of the Coppa Italia after the first hurdle in the competition - little Bari. Cuper paid the price of fielding a very weak line-up in the first match which Bari won 1-0. At the return, Inter played with a stronger line-up featuring Recoba, Kallon, Conceicao, Zanetti, Toldo, and Cordoba. But Bari won again .. this time 2-1. Gamara scored an own goal  while Guly had a good chance to restore some pride in the final minutes of the game, but instead, he sent the ball into the Curva Nord.

Inter now have only the Champions League and the Serie A to look at ..
