Mine would be:
Del Piero
Pessotto
Birindelli
Zambrotta
Buffon
Camoranesi
Cannavaro

This is the logical one. Because this is how they decend in terms of whos older at Juve.

Putting Thuram as captain after Del Piero is not right for Pessotto or Zambrotta.
I am one of those who think the captain's armband should be around a national arm as much as possible.

cannavaro came lately to juve to find the glory that he could not find it with parma or inter and he did by winning the scudetto for the first time in his career.

DP
Zamb
Thuram

The most important thing is to have a player who is:

1. Respected with in the team.
2. A leader on the pitch.
3. Has the ability to dig in and work harder when it’s already hard.
4. Making good remarks and pushing the player, not complaining and hangs with his head.

So… Viera is an excellent 3 choice behind DP and Canna.

Also Buffon has all this qualities

Vieira is not familiar enough with Juventus to take the Captain's armband, something that is a huge honor and should be given to somebody who has earned it.
All true, but there is a more important reason why Vieira shouldn't be the captain - he doesn't speak Italian!

When Del Piero isn't playing (still my #1 choice for captain) I think Cannavaro or Emerson should get the armband. Both are natural leaders, I think Cannavaro would be slighly ahead of Emerson because he knows the Italian players better.

Cannavaro
Zambrotta
Thuram
Nedved
Buffon

PS: Del Piero doesnt figure in this list, because I dont see him stay.

I agree, but even if he does stay he wouldn't be played often, and even if he does play he wouldn't play very well...we need a consistant captain.

Cannavaro
Buffon
Zambrotta
Vieira (although he is new he has plenty of leadership quality)

Certainly, speaking the language is very important. I am also a firm believer in having an Italian be the Captain of the side, just to adhere to our roots. At the moment I only see one person fulfilling all the requirements and that great man is Cannavaro.

Who cares, Captains armband is not important. Its only for show anyway.
Is that supposed to a be a joke? Have you ever actually played the sport of football before? The captain's purpose is to lead a side and give it guidance, and if the captain knows how to inspire through words and actions he can lift your team to higher levels of play and confidence. Without a great captain your team will lack leadership and guidance, something you need on a football pitch just like you do growing up or as people of country do when they are faced with a war or difficult task ahead of them. I cannot even stress how important a captain can be for a football team.

I cant understand how people rate cannavaro and Zambrotta over Thuram....
Zambrotta is not a leader. in any way. he is just an icon.

my list would be:
Del Piero
Pesotto
Thuram
Cannavaro
Emerson

By the way. The only thing running around Moggis head is money.. so If Zlatan have another great season he would probably become the captain, for commercial and adverising purposes. Kind of like how Del Piero got it ;)

Yeye ye, Thats what they teach u as a kid. You put it so beautiful too.
I respect ur opinion. NOW...

I just happen to be in the opinion that the captains role on the soccer pitch is way overrated.

Dont even compare it too war. War is of extreme strategical nature and even though element of strategy is in the game of soccer its not even close to the strategic intelligence needed on the battlefield. In war leaders are very important, they have to be capable, intelligent, brave, strong and fearless.

In soccer... Its just for ****ing show!! what is so hard to undurstand about that.

If leaders are that extremely important as u claim(lifting the team to higher ground and instiling them with a strength never before witnessed by man) how come "The captain" of JUVE gets subed in almost every game he plays?

If he plays at all? The all so important captain gets subed.

I imagine you sitting at home watching the game on tele going- OH no! how is the team gonna manage now?

Who will lead them to the gates of heaven? Were dooomed!

And then the other guy puts on the band and tries to lead them to heaven.

And its not only in Juve this happens, Ive seen the captain get subed in so many matches in so many different teams again and again.

Sure that makes sense doesnt it? Sub the one guy that can lead the team to heaven.

Maybe its because Capello is the devil and wants all of the team to go to hell with him.

Or maybe the captains role just doesnt ****ing matter anymore.
