This has always bothered me.

I’ve always wondered how come that Iniesta-Xavi period Barcelona squad would always field the same 11 almost every week for years while participating in all possible competitions while we always seem to be tired no matter the coach/players or amount of matches.

We can find similar examples in other teams. Are our training sessions really that intense?

Partly biology (they are better athletes), partly coaching and training methods being probably out of date. Ronaldo played all games no problem if you'll recall. Some players are just better athletes then others and if your training methods are also ancient then the difference can be huge.

Training is supposed to prepare you for better performance. If its doing the opposite, then as a club you'd expect someone to tone down the intensity
