Lucarelli extends Livorno deal Sunday 2 October, 2005

Cristiano Lucarelli has ended his feud with President Aldo Spinelli by signing a new contract until 2010, confirmed the club.
“Lucarelli has signed with us until 2010 and is very much a Livorno player,” Spinelli told Sky Italia ahead of today’s Tuscan derby against Fiorentina.
“I had no problems with him and Lucarelli represents a real symbol of this club, just as Igor Protti was before his retirement.”
Last season’s Capocannoniere had threatened to walk out on the Stadio Armando Picchi this summer following a bitter row with President Spinelli.
He had been close to a Premiership move to Tottenham, only to stay at Livorno, even if he rejected the captain’s armband in protest at Spinelli’s running of the club.
Livorno are Lucarelli’s home-town outfit and he has been a lifelong supporter of this side, helping them from Serie B to an historic promotion.
Meanwhile ZhiXin has adapted the life of Livorno.
"Thanks to Lucarelli I'm now enjoying myself and consider myself part of the team. And I'm used to my shorts being taken down by him now."
