Marco Tardelli has praised Juventus’ transfer campaign so far despite his decision to resign from the Board of Directors.

The 1982 World Cup winner was appointed following the Calciopoli scandal and was said to be responsible for the complete departure of Roberto Bettega – the last surviving member of the now-infamous Triade.

“The club and I had different ideas on how the new Juventus had to be,” Tardelli told La Domenica Sportiva.

“However they are working very well. They chose the right Coach to fix things and they are making excellent moves in the market,” added the former Inter boss..

“I never expected to change Juventus and I never said that they didn’t allow me to do so,” commented Tardelli, denying that he resigned as he was being shunned by the rest of the Juve management.

“Some newspapers accused me of not wanting Bettega, but that is not the case. Instead, I was the only one who wanted him.

“I only said that if he really had nothing to do with the Triade, he should have maintained an important role inside the club,” concluded Tardelli.

The 1982 World Cup winner had already reportedly been on the verge of leaving the club after Coach Didier Deschamps’ departure, but had denied that he was considering the idea of stepping down.
