So, now that there are reports surfacing we will sign Sissoko and Mellberg pretty shortly, we can now speculate on the wonderful formations Ranieri will field. Probably this:

Buffon

Zebina - Legrottaglie - Mellberg - Molinaro

Marchionni - Sissoko - Zanetti - Nedved

Trezeguet - Del Piero


Or maybe this:

Buffon

Zebina - Legrottaglie - Mellberg - Molinaro

Nocerino - Zanetti - Sissoko

Nedved

Trezeguet - Del Piero

Only five defenders are fit to play. The same problem lies in the midfield: only five players. Sure we could use Del Piero and Palladino there, but tactics-wise not a good option. And if players get suspended will have to use those primavera youngsters as substitutes. We need newcomers right away.

4231 is Roma's usual line up.
i think we might se Standardo in CB position and Chiellini as an LB.
Also Camo is very likely to start from beginning.So Pala out,and maybe if Neddy to tired to get replaced. Also IQ to come of the bench in second half to bust up attack..

Yes I know it is, but I like this formation. Gives us a lot of options attacking-wise, while still staying strong on the defense.

The changes you made are good IMO.

yea i agree. the formation give a good balance of offence and defence. we get the 2 DMs helping the defence while there are a good 4 attackers who are also supported by the DMs

This is the most useless thread with Ranieri managing the team because it is the same formation all the time and there are no tactics at all.

No we have a tactic, our midfielders give the ball back to our defenders, they give it back to Buffon, he passes the ball to Molinaro and the later is attempting a miserable/desperate cross,
our attackers pressure the enemy defenders that got the ball, they are forced to pass it to their midfielders, so that our DMs may steal it from them and start all over again...
