I'd be quite happy if our transfer market ended like this:

Flamini-Amauri-Mancini-New LB
plus the return of the 3 kids.

Buffon
Zebina---Andrade--Chiellini--New LB

Camo--Ninja--Flamini---Mancini

---Trez------Dp

Guys, has anyone noticed that when our wingers or backs are outside the area on the flanks they NEVER go to 1vs1?They always try to cross or to pass to someone else to cross.

It's true to a certain extent. Nedved doesn't really take on players, more like running past them when the opportunity exists. But I've never seen Pavel take on a player like CRonaldo or Mancini.

Thats definitely true. Even in his younger days Nedved is a speedster, he keeps good control of his dribbles at speed, but I wouldn't call him a dribbler. Only Camo and DP.

I hate the straight 4-4-2, but it's probably all Ranieri will use when he fields Giovinco, which better be all the time.
But with the nature of Camo and Giovinco the straight 4-4-2 you fielded has some variations. Not to forget Alonso's deep passing and Sissoko's positioning.

Mellberg Andrade Chiellini Grosso

is the only CL material and realistic defense we could have, it is possible to happen, but we need all those players to be fit and ready!

If we dont buy a decent LB, i would prefer to see Chiellini as our LB, esp if Andrade return to his old days!! :

Zebina - Mellberg - Andrade/Legro - Chiellini

At least with these defenses we might actually have a chance to defend against CL quality teams. Our flanks wouldnt be exposed that much and this defense can barely stand a 4-3-3 up front. We wont have any important weakness at this formation, weakness that our opponent would easily exploit, as they have done with Molinaro in this year.
This is a strong, solid defense, mentioned for CL games and Serie A derbies, it can also support our offense since both of our fullbacks have a decent pace and cross !
Players like Molinaro, De Ceglie and in smaller extend Zebina and Legro would only expose our team, both in flanks and the center, we must avoid of using two of them, at the same time at such games!

When we want to build a strong defense, we need to take a look at her as a whole.
We cant expect from two of our players to play as good as four players, that was the case this year and thats why our defense sucked so much!

Chiellini did very well as a CB, but he also did very well as an LB too, almost as good as Zambro, his stamina, pace and cross are wasted in the center, if we have plenty of decent alternatives in the center, then we could use his help on our severely exposed left flank.
De Ceglie is too young and Molinaro is too useless to cope in CL games and derbies.
If we want to keep Chiellini in the center, we should bring in a decent starter LB, otherwise i see Chiellini to be forced to cover our need in that side, as he was forced to cover our needs in the center this year.
This year both our flanks and center needed reinforcement and we chose Chiellini to strengthen the most important one,the center, next year two reliable CBs will be available, but our left flank seems to be as exposed as it was this year...
