Totally absurd, ridiculous hopes:

Buffon

Grygera - Metzelder - Barzagli - Chiellini

Gerrard - Zanetti - Paro

Camoranesi - Klose - Del Piero

Even though I abhor Klose and think he's overrated, there are not many other options available on the market. Trezeguet plus cash for Gerrard would be a dream that will not happen, however we can always sit here and become aroused with the possibilities.

It's realistic apart from Gerrard.

I'd rather have Heinze or the prick Mexes, it will add some badass nature to the team which is cool sometimes.
Those two players are easily better than Barzagli. But I doubt Manure and Roma would be stupid enough to give those players away... they're the best stoppers at their respective clubs.

I still think the solutions lie in La Liga, ie Perea or Rodriguez.

Actually, there are quite a number of possible targets... Andrade, Milito, Escude, Rodriguez, Perea, Ibanez and possibly a few others.
I don't like Perea, but Milito, Escude or Ibañez would be great to our defense. Rodriguez has been injured and I don't know when he is coming back. I haven't seen that guy play since a lot time ago.

Perea has always struck me as a solid player and I believe he has a lot of potential. He's solid in the tackle and has a good positional sense. Atletico's defense this season has been superb and his displays have apparently been good.

Rodriguez is probably the better player though and I won't ever forget his performance against Manure last year in the Champions League.

How dare you post a subjective opinion? You're such a hypocrite.

Perea makes too many errors even though he's a solid player(somethin like boumsong)

last game against sevilla he was close to scoring an own goal on two occasions

aye but i am guessing it is a slight dip in form for chivu though i do agree mexes has improved vastly every single season in serie a.
either would be a good addition but i believe over the course of a career chivu will prove to be the better defender

I have watched Perea on a number of occasions and I didn't see him being mistake-prone. But please don't label him as a Boumsong that's just highly offensive. :D
