We have both of those already. Immobile and Fausto Rossi (Esposito).

Ferrara should give them a chance, if not in league games, then he should try them in the coppa tournament.

i dont get why everyone thinks juventus can only play one formation the 4-4-2 because of its past, perhaps we should use the formation that best suits our players.

IMO that is one of the 4-2-3-1 or the 4-3-2-1

Would like to see that formation right now with Camo out injured:

----------------Sissoko----------------Poulsen----------------------marchisio

-----------------------------Diego-------------------Giovinco-----------------

----------------------------------------striker--------------------------------

Its pretty clear that Diego can't function without creative players around him. Gio might be just the right guy to play next to him.

Really interesting article.

Amauri, according to this guy, is the striker of the future; a guy whose main strength is linking up and creating space for others rather than scoring goals himself.
Good read.

The question is whether Amauri is a striker of the future or a poor man's version of it. We've seen both sides haven't we.

Another interesting part is about the return of the libero. The trend certainly showed the need for it but I don't think the current crop of CBs could fill that need. They are either not talented technically or simply don't have the defensive abilities to achieve that balance.

Indeed.

There are a few who are close to having the capabilities, but there isn't really a natural libero about just now.

Chiellini is very good at making the odd drive forward, but he is relying on power rather than technique.

The striker of the future could be someone like Dzeko. Big, great finisher and good with the ball. Amauri has all of these, he's just not doing it on the field.

The Trezeguet-strikers of this world is not the future, although they are damn good in front of the goal.

4-4-2 / 4-3-1-2 / 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-2-1/ what ever the formation the coatch will use
it will not work, why, there is alot of reasons.

1.the full backs RB&LB,modern football depend on full backs, especially with formation like
4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1/ look to inter, barca, man u,chelse, and look to juve full back.

2.THE MANAGEMENT,when juve management start to build a team with formation
like 4-3-1-2 then they have to do thier job properly, not ignoring the defence by buying cannavaro and grosso,if any one notice that juve repeating the same mistakes that milan did in the past, milan who used to play in 4-3-1-2 system and win the champions league with it.
dida
cafu--nesta--maldini--serginho

gattuso--perlo--seedorf

kaka

sheva---crespo

this is milan formation thats makes them in the top of the world few years ago
the same formation makes them the bigges losers when the defence line changed
by players like oddo, bonera, kaladze, favalli,if juve want to play in 4-3-1-2 system they have to rebuild the defence line, and stop blaming players and the coach.

and if the secco and blanc cant find good full back, its better to change tha whole system to three defenders.

The current 4-3-1-2 formation is very narrow and predictable, if Diego is being shackled then it will affect the whole team, and we all know Diego plays in the middle thus 4-3-2-1 formation where he and another AM will play on the left and right supporting the lone striker is not going to work as well. 4-4-2 is actually better if we had the right personnel.

4-4-2? Ok..

Brazzo - Poulsen - Marchisio - De Ceglie

That's what our amazing coach would go with. Drop the fucking 2 strikers, you've got more useful CMs and AMs than strikers.

Indeed. Perhaps Del Piero should up his game in the 4-3-1-2 then we don't have to revert back to the lame 4-4-2. If we drop Diego to accomodate the 4-4-2 then were more than fucked and we've just lost 25 million. Del Piero needs to understand that times change and going back to the easy option is a poor excuse. Diego needs to start end of. Or even we need to go back to the 4-2-3-1 a formation that worked. Perhaps the bigger problem lies not only in the formation but elsewhere.

---------------Buffon
Caceres-Canna-Chiellini-Grosso
Brazzo-Sissoko-Marchisio-Giovinco
---------------Diego
--------------Iaquinta

RUNNING PLAYERS around Diego, in Brazzo, Gio, Iaquinta and defensive bomb in sissoko and awesome Marchisio behind him. Now he can stay above the fucking middlecircle w/o having to go deep to collect the ball.
