Former Juventus now Villarreal midfileder Alessio Tacchinardi revealed he expected Inter to put up more of a fight in the Madrigal last night.
“After losing the title, I thought they would come here to play the match of their lives. Instead we were superiour to them and deserved to win. This was certainly a bad knock for Inter, because they were eliminated by Villareal, the team considered the weakest still around in the Champions League,” he said.
“I saw a team without any fighting spirit. They really let me down. I also didn’t understand why Mancini replaced Figo with Mihajlovic. I was surprised,” he added.
