I think it’s more about tactical reasons than anything else. I also read somewhere that he wants to leave.

I like Aguerd and i prefer CBs to be on the older side. Hes also left footed so maybe hopefully he replaces Kelly.

With the right coach Aguerd needs a very specific setup to get the best out of him, like playing on the left side, not being the one marking the main striker, and having the right partner next to him.

They've basically all but confirmed they're redeeming him. The discussion with Porto right now is can we get a discount or not.

I think there is ZERO chance we don't redeem him, we're just seeing if there is room on the price or a way to spread payments or whatever.

I think we'll be signing both.

We're loaning him again so that the pricetag is pushed out another year for us to really get our finances under control. If Vlahovic is sold or not, next year his insane wages are gone. Thats a massive boon to our transfer market summer 2026. This is a delay tactic and we have a good enough relationship with PSG that they'll allow it imo. They understand our constraints financially.

The worrying thing would be them not letting us play him in the CWC, that would've been the sign (in my opinion) that they were playing hardball on a future loan/transfer. The fact they allowed him to stay leads me to believe we've agreed for a small or zero discount on a future transfer fee (rumored to be 50m) and that allowed them to agree for us to delay it another year with another loan.
