I don't know what this project is the mangement refers to from time to time. Besides reducing wage bill.
For me, this is Juve's mercato for the past years:

Are you surprised? Everyone was deepthroating the new management because they acted fast in bringing in Vlahovic - I mean, they paid 80 million for him, so I highly doubt The Purple Rats were going to say no to that, especially with an expiring contract on the horizon.

They did act quickly to bring in Bremer, but they knew they were losing De Ligt, so it had to be done. The fee? Close to 50 million, again for a player on an expiring deal.

It took them 3 months to wrap up Locatelli, a player who was desperate to come here.

Di Maria and Pogba were freebies.

Milcuck is nothing to get excited about - another spare really. Zakaria has been misused/injured/disappointing (take your pick).

Parepiss on these wages is ridiculous.

I agree but it seems the threshold has risen in recent years. We once had Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal, Tevez, Buffon, Chiellini etc all no higher than 4-4.5m net and they would all be earning north of 10m now

Some of these guys confuse things positionally too. Regista is generally the deep laying playmaker in 3 man midfield. The duties and tasks of that is quite different from a double pivot of 2 CMs in a 4231, which is what Sassuolo generally played.

One of the two CMs will drop deeper then the other and pick up ball, but tactically and the freedom of movement won't be the same between trio of mids or double pivot. Especially when the style of coaches are wildly different. Like a De Zerbi and an Allegri.

I'm not. I also watched plenty of Sassuolo and if you're trying to tell me he (mainly) was a regista, well I guess you're the ostrich here.

No problem with Loca anyway but there's a reason Paredes is being brought in and Jorginho is still the reference point there for the azzurri.

You're inventing things now. I've not once claimed that he was a regista.

He's neither a 6, nor an 8. But he can play both these position fine, without putting the world on fire.

Good player. But hasn't found a comfortable position on the field yet.

His game really fell off a cliff when Rabiot went off injured against Roma.

Management still doing great things. Our tea is better than last season and covered a lot of positional needs including the midfield we talk about. We have a good squad to build on now and once we get our players fit we have potential for a run. Not something ive thought in a while

Bremer had a contact until 2024 and cost €40m plus potential bonuses, just to put that out there.
