Giving these kids time alongside players like Di Maria, Vlahovic, Pogba, and Locatelli would be great for their growth. Also, a few CL minutes would be something memorable for them.

Big EPL clubs give lots of time to their young players that's why they hit their peak earlier. Remember Alvarez that we wanted but went to City, he's getting significant minutes even though they have Grealish and Foden there. He'll get up to City levels pretty quickly.

I also hate that our players are launched into the wrong position and expected to be great. If they're out of position, train them properly. McKennie is not a RW, he never will be. Rabiot works well in a certain position, same for Locatelli. We handicap ourselves immediately by using players in the wrong position.

Its so sad that we burn so much money on bums because we're reluctant to try our youngsters. If they don't work, move them on but if they're decent, the team benefits massively.

It is sad, though that our hopeful future starters' careers are being dictated by players with lower ceilings than them, just because we pay them more money and its harder to convince other teams to take them, or convince them to go to other teams on loan.

Last season he was great as regista and played consistently well up until the injury later on. He may be missing some experience and nuance to play it to the best of his capabilities but please don't pidgeonhole him into one role only.

Also, if Rovella stays and Paredes comes that is 8 midfielders which is simply unattainable and counter productive for his development. Since nobody wants the others not named Pogba or Locatelli then it is perfectly normal to loan Rovella.

It would be great if he could've stayed but let's stop pretending he would be a difference maker.

And yes, Loca is definitely wasted as a regista. It's not because he can do a medium job there, that it's not a waste. He's twice as good higher up. You weaken two spots in one move and I'm not a fan of all this shifting and patching up holes.

No club does that without a valid disciplinary reason or transfer interest from clubs that suits the club. Rovella is not better than anyone not named Arthur so it makes no sense.

There is absolutely no evidence for that other than a game here or there. He had awful games as #8 too last year like he did vs Samp at #6 this season. 95% of the season he was our most consistent player and one of the best performers playing that role

Agreed but this is how we screw ourselves financially, spending lots on players that seem to be underwhelming who we then can't move on. Our bench doesn't have any difference makers so I'd rather try an inexperienced Rovella and save the money for a genuine difference maker than paying Arthur/Rabiot/Mckennie/Zakaria wages to ride the bench. If Rovella can play to a decent level so we rest our best players for the most important games, that would be a great place to be in terms of winning domestic titles again.

The persistence to keep buying shit players and never trusting or developing our youngsters has a profound effect on the current squad. We won't be able to do anything in the winter and next summer unless we get rid of the deadwood. That means no LB, no attacking mid, no backup winger - all the same problems that won't we addressed yet again.

None of our mids, save for Pogba when he's not injured, are difference makers - not Locatelli, not Parepiss (if/when he comes), and not Miretti (not yet at least). The others (not the youngsters) are just bodies.

Well sending one of Rabiot/Zakaria/McK to the stands and freezing them out would bring on even more financial problems. It's hardly a sound financial decision.

And this board didn't sign anyone shit and unsellable yet. Zakaria is very cheap and people lost their minds here when he was rumored to be leaving. Rabiot almost left, no offers for McK. It's not like they're not trying

We can all argue on this, but probably most of us see offloading Rabiot and keeping Rovella and Fagioli as the best possible scenario, but it just didnt happen. We were unable to sell him in the end, so it is what it is and in this case sending them both on loan seem like a most logical way from both sporting and financial perspective. For me we totally needed someone in regista/playmaker position, lets see if Paredes is the right player, some guys here rate him quite highly so lets just hope he is injury free.

We accepted the offer for Rabiot, he rejected it. He had been playing better recently, so no reason to freeze him out, he is a useful player.

Look, I did not say Locatelli cannot play great as #8, I agree he can, just disagree he cannot play well at #6 which he did heck of a lot more than #8 here and at Sassuolo.
