How is he right?

Targeting Zaniolo doesn't mean we won't sign a CB. In fact there's been more talk about a CB than Zaniolo for a week.

And another winger is just as much of a priority as a CB is.
Bro, season starts in a month and we basically need 5-6 players: 2 CBs, midfielder, back-up winger, back-up striker, maybe even a fullback...

Squad as it is right now is enough for another 4th place finish. Even that is under question.

We don't need 5 to 6 players. We have 5-6 positions who can easily be improved but anyone with a grain of realism knew and knows we're not able to change that many faces in one mercato while also changing our formation and losing a few starters as well. And of course not being able to sell our trash on high wages is another huge reason...

As it is right now, we have the second best squad and we'll be a contender imo. Let's not forget we already added Vlahovic, Zakaria, Gatti, Rovella, Miretti, Fagiolo, Di Maria and Pogba this year alone.

it isn't that zaniolo couldn't be great with us

but spending 50m on a redundant player will make us have 50m less to spend on CB/LB upgrades
We will NOT spend 50m on Zaniolo this year. It will be a loan deal, as per reports.

Premier League has now spent over €1 BILLION this summer on transfers

La Liga: €237.9 million

5 teams not spent a penny. 7 have spent < €5m

This is how broken football system & why Juventus & others will break away to a European Super League soon

Marotta and Paratici had a summer Mercato when they changed like 10-11 players and it was a winning squad. It can be done.

But the spine was still the same

BBBC, Licht, Pogba, Marchisio

This team doesn't have a spine and lacks continuity. It's not as easy as it sounds.

First of all - major overreaction on the last part.

Second of all, we only absolutely need a CB when De Ligt actually leaves. We signed the two biggest needs we had on free. Two creative players in Di Maria and Pogba.

If the season starts tomorrow and this is the team we have:

Szczesny
Danilo-Bonucci-De Ligt-Sandro
Zakaria-Locatelli-Pogba
Cuadrado-Vlahović-Di Maria

I feel pretty good, already an improvement on last season.

But we won't stop with signings now. We need De Ligt to open the door for a new CB. Two new CBs would close room for Gatti to develop. If we want to trust young players and he is as good as they believe then he needs to be given a chance. He won't be if we sign Pau Torres, Bremer and have Bonucci ahead of him too. You'd have a Rugani situation again from 5 years ago.

A new LB is needed, but we have to wait for someone to have mercy and take Pellegrini, we're stuck with Sandro.

Another midfielder is not needed and won't come before sales. Loca, Pogba, Zak, McK, Rabiot, Rovella, Fagioli, Miretti. Good mix and again, young guys need to be trusted

A backup striker is not needed and won't come until Kean is gone, if he's gone. Kean if he stays will be better with more quality and creativity in attack.

And Zaniolo is the other winger you're talking about, depending on formation can be a SS or a CAM too.

I don't see all this room for panic. Signings are needed yes, but also time to sell some guys and open new places in the squad

We need LW, CB - this is the biggest priority. LB we need to improve but we have players who could play there just the quality isnt right. For LW and CB we currently have no starters and this are the most pressing positions for us. Zaniolo is coming here if a) he can play as LW b)we send Di Maria to LW and he plays RW.
Im not counting De Ligt as Juve player anymore and we are fooling ourselves if we think he still is our player.
