Is that a real quote or Gazzetta opinion? Even then, di Maria is class, not some average Adrien. One such player wont hurt if it allows you to spend the budget on more pressing issues
Judging by BiniBene mercato over this past season, we seem to be heading in that direction

Locatelli (24)
Kean (21)
Zakaria (25)
Vlahovic (21)

Rusty Doris (22) will soon be added to the mix

Doesn't mean we won't recruit experienced players, just that we might see less of these type of signings

Anyone watches Bundesliga and know this guy ?

https://www.whoscored.com/Players/330538/Show/David-Raum

David Raum (Hoffenheim) 3 Goals 10 Assists in all competition
Seems have a pretty good record, good rating (7.27 for LB and 7.39 for LWB) , played 39 matches last season (include NT with Germany)
only 5 days injury last season (based on transfermarkt data)

https://www.transfermarkt.com/mouss...ails/spieler/395516/wettbewerb/L1/saison/2021
Moussa Diaby (Leverkusen) 16Goals 12Assists in all competition + NT with France
Played total 43 matches last season (3149 mins)
Left winger and right winger, same goals from both flank last season, more assists from the left
still 22, rarely injury. only have 1 injury from 20/21 because of Coronavirus

Sadio Mane vibes looking at his youtube compilation
I've been saying Diaby for a while now. Versatile and pacey winger. I don't know why we're not after him and instead chasing an injury prone overpriced Zaniolo with meh stats

It is amazing how German club like Leverkusen bought him for 15m then in 2-3 years the value is 55m by transfermarkt, so if they sell him for 60m they will get around 40m just from this transfer, money making at its finest

While we got Berna the goat for 40m, losing all his value til the free transfer and paid all his bigger wages

How many players have left the Bundesliga and performed at the same level?

A genuine question as I'm struggling to think of many. Vidal and De Bruyne were obviously massive successes. Havertz has started to show something and is still young but I'd say he hasn't reached the levels expected. Firmino and Keita have done well but I was expecting a bit more from both.

Sancho, Sane, Draxler, Pulisic, Jovic, Werner, Haller, Mkhitaryan, Joelinton, Dembele and even Aubameyang haven't been able to replicate their form.

Kroos and Hakimi have done real well too

Son, Gundogan, Ter Stegen, Rudiger, Alaba, I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a few more

Many players have performed at a really high level outside the Bundesliga

You have a point with some you listed (but then again, no one was unexpected struggler in that list except maybe Werner? Dembele too, but he was allways a headcase), but:

Sane was best player in Man City for a while, and the best mid in EPL for a season.

Auba has 2-3 seasons at top scorer level in Arsenal.

Di Maria is basically another Dani Alves type signing, I'm sure no one had a big problem with that or Lucio (which also is similar, only didnt work out).

The ones leaving a devastating effect on club finances are Ramsey, Rabiot, Can etc.
The odd quality "free" veteran isn't a problem, we can't just sign 21 and 23 years olds and be ready to win things, it's good to have the odd mix.
