He allways looked short when I seen him lol, but Chiesa is short too (I'm 195cm for reference). Which is not alot, Robertson is super durable, so doesn't have much need for his backup.

What was it really though? I literally do not know or do not remember.
put it this way, some mods give in to peer pressure for popularity, if they had any genuine reason, they'd have flagged the post(s) that supposedly warranted the ban, but its a rule for some and not for others as its evident that some turn a blind eye to direct name calling but having a difference of opinion is enough to warrant a lengthy ban somehow.

is tsimikas really any worse than sandro or MDS at left back? I don't think so.

Wow we have been super active in this mercato. 8 new players and 8 exits (compared to last year's squad post January). To summarize:

IN: Gatti, Bremer, Paredes, Pogba, Fagioli, Di Maria, Kostic, Milik
OUT: Chiellini, De Ligt, Arthur, Pellegrini, Ramsey, Dybala, Bernardeschi, Morata

From a financial point of view, I think net net, we are paying less wages and made a plusvulenza on just De Ligt. So from a financial perspective it was reasonably thrifty - most departures outside of DeLigt earned no transfer fees but Bremer and Kostic was really the only player we had to pay a transfer fee for - although Paredes will trigger a buy after a year and Milik was a very cheap acquisition.

So key question is: Is the squad better?

Keepers - no change
Defence - This is tough to call - on balance I would say its worse. Bremer based on last year's form is a small upgrade on De Ligt but Chiellini's absence is a miss even if he wasn't playing that regularly - his presence will be missed. Gatti is promising but inexperienced. Left back is looking thin (unless maybe Kostic can fulfill that role).
Midfield - Better. Pogba when he is back will make a difference in quality and Paredes is not a bad addition. Fagioli is an exciting addition but Miretti looks good this season even though he was technically part of the squad last year.
Forwards - Better. I rate Di Maria above Dybala (I just wish we could have him on a longer contract). I like Milik over Morata. Principally because we needed a target man to fill in for Vlahovic - I don't see Kean or Morata adequately fulfilling that role. Kostic is better for this team than Bernardeschi too. Chiesa was not a new addition but clearly his reintroduction will be important.

So overall I would say its a better squad with a positive effect on financials. I think this squad needs another quality defender and a world class left back to be at a higher level.

But overall I think it was a decent mercato. My biggest criticism is letting Cambiaso go out on loan. That is hard to fathom given that left back seems one of our weakest positions right now.

Already looking forward to next summer when Tici contract masterpiece trifecta of Sandro, Rabiot and Rugani finally leave. #NewProjectGoals
Unfortunately, I believe Rugani’s contract expires in 2024. Cuadrado’s is up next year though.

We will definitely free up quite a big amount of money after getting rid of these guys. Need to properly focus on the fullbacks and even the wide positions as well next.
