Our best shot of getting anywhere near £100M for him is surely not Chelsea who lacks stability and is going through a ownership change… however i could easily imagine Manchester United making a move in this direction, even more so now with Erik ten Hag at their helm.

I’m sure De Ligt has plenty of suitors but i think that at least at this moment in time very few of them would look to invest anywhere close to what we ourself paid for him initially.
We are always in a weak position in the negotiations maybe we should learn from lotito and ADL.I am sure Chelsea and Man utd will go into a bidding war if de ligt wants to leave.

A bidding war between them might indeed be our best chance to fetch anything near the £100M tag that we are presumably looking to get if we are to eventually let him go, altough still rather unlikely for now after the unimpressive season he’s had…

Hope he stays put for now tho, after a couple of better seasons here his value could sky rocket again, we just need to build a proper team first without needing the funds from his potential sell to do it, which still remains a question mark, but if De Ligt himself does not ask to leave then we should surely keep him around for now.

It doesn't make any sense to extend a player contract with lower release clause which means the player wants to leave in another year or so. We don't need such uncertainty we definitely need a lot of funds to get six or seven good quality players.

Agreed, hence why i think that we will probably be seriously considering any offers close to €80M, the main question tho is if anyone at this moment in time will be willing to offer anything over €60M and if that sum would be something that will really help us in improving the team or will just result in us having just enough to reinvest in another couple of CB’s that might do well or might just aswell turn out to be flops.

After letting Dybala go, we are already ready to let De Ligt go. Great! And some people are rationalizing that letting De Ligt go is not a bad idea
MDL is young and very good but honestly he is not all that.
Yes he is one of the best but he is certainly not a 100M player. Koulibaly instead and you have 60M to spend when our team looks like shit is a blessing.

Don't you see the pattern? For 10 years all we do is create a problem and try to fix it. Every time we sell our best player we don't replace him with anyone as good. Who did we replace Pogba with, Vidal, Coman? You can't improve your team by letting go best players. This is small club mentality, freaking Lazio is able to hold on to SMS for many years now, I think we've been linked to him for 4-5 years now. I don't see city selling Foden, or Real Vinicious or name any top team. I guess we are not longer a top team. We had Cancelo, Romero, Spinazola, all of them would be starters at Juve. But the most important thing is plusvalenza.

The €80m could be reinvested in someone like SMS.

I would take SMS over De Ligt right now.
Pogba, Higuain business was 'great'. We enforced attack and weakened midfield. Now you want to weaken defense (even more after chiellini departure) to strengthen midfield. I'm so fed up with this team.

He deserves every cent he gets. We should build our team around, De Ligt, Vlahovic, Chiesa, Loca, that's the only way forward, otherwise failure is inevitable.
No he doesn't. That's one of the reason we are in this situation.
Giving incredible wages to players who don't deserve it.
Going by your logic Bremer and bastoni would deserve way more cause they are way better.
Yet somehow I think they earn 1/3 of de Ligt's salary.
