The problem with Milik is the cost Napoli are demanding 40-50 million euros and also ACL injuries make him a risky signing Dzeko has had a good season last year with 16 goals and he can play the benzema role at least till Ronaldo is here
Ronaldo is so good that he needs a player like Benzema to perform.

I definitely would take Dzeko over Milik. I still think Dzeko is a bit too old now to chase him though.

If we fire Higuin's ass to record that massive 18m loss in order to buy Dzeko for 10m, this will be ridiculous, won't it? Even in terms of wages we don't save up anything...
Didnt we register 20m profit with Spinazola? Or probably Rugani Bellerin. No biggie.

Come on bro, there's no way we will actually count on an unproven value, no big club will count on a scouted youngster to deliver from day one.

This whole anti dzeko movement is one big joke. He's cheap and a solid value on the pitch. If you want younger, you need money and or sacrificing plugging other holes.
i wouldn't call 7m net too cheap, but i agree with your point. dzeko as a stop gap is okay.

let's hope we'll be able to pay that haaland clause next summer.

Because he's useless?
Well, he is about as useful as Dzeko, who would cost a transfer fee plus salary plus we would pay Higuain anyway.

There is really no middle ground on Tuz (and apparently in the club either). People went from fapping over Higuain and Marotta such a boss for spending 90m on him, to Higuain being so awful that we'd rather pay him just to not be here.

And in reality, he hasn't really regressed that much. It's just that it took a while for people to properly assess him after his fluke season with Napoli.

Higuain is playing for one of the best teams in the world, he should be in top form, name me a player who looks like a 35 year old guy eating chips all day and watching netflix. Dzeko, Suarez, Cavani (don't want them either) is still in form compared to Higuain, a disgrace to be in that form when playing football at the highest level possible.

Higuain is literally finished, looks disinterested and has his mind elsewhere. Youth/U23 players looked better than him after lockdown. Dzeko scored 16 goals and gave 11 assists, can head the ball. Welcome to 2020.

We paid 94m for him and 7.5m net salary in 2016 and he arrived looking like Joshua Ostrovsky. He was 28 back then. I'm actually surprised he's holding up as well as he is at almost 33.

What a terrible waste of money. People laughed at the Amauri comparison's but this is actually worse. At least we wasted less time and money on Amauri.

He's liked by fans so it's out of question (and agent/family are the real leeches), but instead of giving him severance pay I wish we considered suing him.

We need at least 30 to avoid making a loss on him so nowonder we rejected it
1. Why do you feel the need to make things up?

2. Don't pay any attn to CdS. They're far worse than TS now.

Quick Google search tells me Benzema earns 8M pounds (around 9M euros) a year (net I guess). We can match that and since he comes from abroad, it won't be more than 12M in gross wages. Which makes him cheaper than Higuain (and Dzeko for that matter, if it's true his salary is 7M, which I don't think it is), so that's a plus.

The negative side of this is, no one is gonna give him 9M in 2-3 years, so unless it's a short deal, we are stuck. He looks to be in shape and with the desire to go on, so maybe his career will last another 4-5 years, meaning it wouldnt be an issue even if we are. But we should be prepared to see out his contract until the end, so be careful about the length. What would be the transfer fee?

Dzeko would be the cheaper option because of the contract length and transfer fee.

There's no chance in hell RM would sell their player of the season for cheap. It would be stupidity to spend big money on an ageing player. Our transition to become the next Milan would be complete in that case. I doubt this is happening however.
